Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed that Brighton brought an MMA fighter to training to help the club trial new techniques for defending set pieces. In a press conference before their away game against Newcastle, Hurzeler revealed that the fighter had been brought to a training session a “couple of months ago” to help the side develop its physical edge. “We brought him in because we’ve spoken a lot about set-pieces, blocking, and new trends in the Premier League,” he said. “We are trying to adapt to it because I don’t want this club to always be known as a club that is nice."
