I think trading up in the second is often pretty smart if you trust your scouting department because it usually means you have seen somebody fall unduly (like Scourton) - but the top of this draft is so thin that imo there's approximately no chance of that happening this year

I guess it’s a contrary opinion, but think, if anything, Carolina should be in the business of trading back. Panthers need a ton of depth and giving up mid-round picks to move up in a very flat second round isn’t really something I can get behind.

🔮That extra 5th round pick from the Vikings I believe will help the Panthers in a trade up in the second round. Whether that pick is used or another one, it gives them flexibility to be aggressive. I have a hard time believing they will stay pat at 51.

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

The 2021-22 Hornets are the only Eastern Conference team to have a winning record as the 10th seed since the play-in was introduced.
As of right now, the 2025-26 Hornets are tracking to do the exact same thing.

In the history of the East play-in, the No. 10 seed has only *once* had a .500+ record and the East play-in field has averaged 1.8 teams under .500 This year, the current No. 10 seed is not just three games above .500, but is 26-12 since Jan. 1 The play-in is gonna be fun!

1. Hornets- 30.6 PPG
T2. Celtics/Lakers - 23.1 PPG
...
19. Grizzlies- 16.2 PPG
2nd on this list is closer to 19th than they are to the Hornets. One of the most prolific groups of star shooters ever

@NataTheScribe I just think it’s really difficult for players his age to return positive value in the lottery. He’s the same age as some second contract NBA guys.
