The Draft Lottery is over, which means the SportCLT NBA Draft guide is now FREE, available for everyone. This took tons of hours to make, I think it turned out as the best draft resource ever created for Hornets fans. Check it out, it's free: (link below)

@HIMSELF1009 Brunson was 21.8 years old when he was drafted. Yaxel will be two years older than that. I'm not discounting the possibility of him being a good player, I think he will be! I just don't think it would be a good allocation of resources to trade up for him.

@djdotmp4 Well we are seeing an older prospect in Brunson become a superstar and considering Yaxel if he was younger would be top 5 pick I think it’s totally worth it plus an experienced player on a rookie contract is a complete steal

I do not think giving up two top-20 picks in a *loaded* draft class for a player who will be as old as LaMelo Ball is a good idea, nor do I think it is a realistic outcome.

"Multiple sources have told @ClutchPoints that the Charlotte Hornets' interest in Yaxel Lendeborg is real and that they will explore ways to move up to either No. 11 or No. 12 to potentially draft him." 🧐

@bloomkral I disagree. IMO there’s more than 14 lottery-caliber guys. Think Carr, Steinbach, Morez, JQ, Lopez, Philon are all usually lottery picks in an average class

@djdotmp4 It is not a loaded draft class in the late lotto range where we’re picking. Its average.

This clearly reads as an agent trying to drum up interest in their client, fwiw.

I took a look at seven possible Charlotte Hornets draft prospects, including Yaxel Lendeborg, and came up with realistic current NBA comparisons for each one of them. My favorite comp here: Allen Graves is SO similar to me to Rockets Robert Covington. Full article linked below:

From Malik Monk to Tidjane Salaun, the Hornets have drafted their fair share of "boom-or-bust" players. @noah_teague1 writes about why the Hornets should aim for safer players, and how it's backed up in the data: Link below

The Saturday Stinger is live! 🔗⬇️ Sermon: If a future LaMelo’s No. 1 jersey goes in the rafters… Muggsy Bogues has to go with up with him. Biggest Pain: Silver, Expansion, Tanking, and the NBA’s avoidance of Steve Ballmer and the Clippers punishment

@ForBlogston I think I'm partly hedging my bets here. There just aren't a ton of people who have Mara lower than center1 on their boards (or in mocks), so naturally harder for me to get past that barrier of putting him lower. I definitely think it's close between the group you described

@djdotmp4 I think a lot here is right, with one exception (that results from you not following your own analysis, that you admit): Mara. I legitimately don’t think they’d take him over Morez or JQ. Possibly not even Steinbach.

I wrote about who I think the Charlotte Hornets will be high on in the 2026 NBA Draft (in the form of a top-30 big board) based on the traits they've valued over the past two years. Had a lot of fun in this one, think you'll be surprised about some placements. Link below.

@djdotmp4 I'll break mine into tiers Tier 1: Mara Morez Tier 2: Lopez Steinbach Okorie Quaintance Yax Tier 3 Swain Stirtz Carr Cenac Tier 4 Ament Koa This is definitely still changing and adjusting but this is where I'm at rn. I hope we use both picks unless you can get 1 of Mara/Morez

Mine: Jayden Quaintance + Morez Johnson. Give me all of the size, physicality, and defense inside. They'd pair really well with the trio of perimeter players that Charlotte needs to build around.

We're about one month away from the NBA Draft. Who's your favorite combination of prospects for the Hornets to target at 14 + 18?
