@lwansbrough Normally I’d agree (look how much shit I have put public recently LOL), but trust me in this case it’s something that is easy af to build (relatively speaking), first to market is the moat.

Just staked my entire runway on a series of seemingly stupid investments that has a non-zero chance of turning into literally nothing. And I am ok with that, cus there is also a non-zero chance of it turning into a multi-trillion dollar company. If I don’t follow up this tweet with some batshit insane shit by this time next month, I most likely have gone full broke and have temporarily reset my wealth to 0, and we’re gonna pretend this tweet never happened.

@jasonc_nc there is a separate requirement that a wheelchair be able to do a 3 point turn (idk why) so this point is somewhat moot

AI: Here's a totally bullshit argument with a bunch of sources that directly contradict the argument Me: Don't your sources contradict your argument AI: Yes, that's fair, I was full of it Me: So what's the truth AI: (reverts to initial bullshit argument)

Sen̓áḵw doesn't really "break all the rules." Meets City massing standards. Follows the Residential Tenancy Act. Built to BC Building Code. Funds public art at the same rate as projects in the City. It also has heights comparable to dozens of buildings within 2 km.

@bbgaleni7777 @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem This goes back to my original point: those who own the land should be able to develop it how they see fit. Council got in the way and created a housing crisis. The natives are fixing the crisis for their people. Council should do the same for the rest of us.

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Government should never be in the business of building houses .. and neither should bands … these brand new units are going to be thrashed in 3 years .. I work for the current Van indigenous housing society and all I do all day long is rebuild thrashed housing by natives

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Can you blame them for avoiding it … there will be zero funding coming from the project .:: yet they will demand the services

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Perhaps dude … you need to understand what taxes pay for what … building of schools is provincial responsibility

@bbgaleni7777 @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem I would direct you to council, which is blocking the development of homes which DO contribute taxes. The Senakw development is a positive change because it creates more demand for services and forces council to take action to supply those services, which they are avoiding.

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem And where do you think funding for local services roads , sewage , garbage collection, snow removal , schools etc comes from … adding 6000 units that contribute zero to services is problematic

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Pick on the easy one … local schools already at capacity… no problem but when you have 6000 units many of which will be contributing kids to the system .. yet zero funding coming from those 6000 units … these issues already raised by council ..

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Perhaps 6000 new units in the market place … ( current vacancy rating 3.7 % ) displacing 6000 units that do pay property tax and pay for services is key to understanding the situation

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem Zero property tax pal …zero … income tax is a different animal, and don’t forget the highly subsidized natives in those buildings will also not be contributing income tax … try and keep up ..so there is another dent in the health care side of things that income tax does affect

@lwansbrough @SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem The fact is they were colonized… 150 years ago and now some wing nuts like Eby and Trudeau are handing back land with all the fixings on it … if you are going to build 6000 units at least you can do it pay for the services

@SteveSaretsky @Khelsilem can you point me to the legislation that says first nations are subject to city bylaws? you can't break rules that don't apply to you.

@Khelsilem Well It doesn’t follow height or parking bylaws despite tying into city sewer and infrastructure.
