I agree 200%. Merz cannot be blamed for Trump’s insanities.
But he cannot run the country like we are still in the historical anomaly where Obama is still the president, export to GDP is peaking, and corporate profits are booming.

The last four US administrations concluded that it cannot instrumentalise the EU for its purposes the way it had in the 1990s. Objectives/values no longer aligned. US either worked with a group of willing (division) or ignored Europe outright.

Here's the difference.
"Trump" is a family-owned business that has been a family-owned business for 60 (?) years. It had a multi-billion dollar valuation before Donald Trump took office. It is currently run by other family members.
"Biden" had no family owned business, and it had no value before he took office. Yet family members made millions expressly trading access to influence, and concealed everything they did through cutouts and off-shore banking.
Bill Clinton had pretty much ZERO personal financial wealth when he ran for President.
Today he is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Same for Barack Obama.
Yes, being President creates money-making opportunities.

I’m boarding @Delta in Atlanta for Amsterdam. Simply this: this airline is a disgrace. I never experienced this lousy customer service-rude gate agents, indifferent staff, my request prior to travel completely ignored. What has happened to this country’s airlines? Where is pride?

One of the reasons why living in Europe is so much better than North America is that cities are built for people, not cars.
European cities, besides being beautiful, provide all amenities at walking distance. Groceries, shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment. All nearby.
They are also a lot better to build families and communities. Children can walk to school, live near their friends, and enjoy a variety of activities close by. Adults can also form long-term bonds with neighbours, shopkeepers and visit relatives frequently (and also easily dump their kids with their grandparents for some needed rest).
Our cities are built to be seen and enjoyed, while america-style suburbs feel soulless and dystopian. We should keep it that way.
