Had a good time sharing our work on labeling behavior and emotion events in the past two weeks at #ISRE2024 and #CogSci2024! As an extension to the emotion segmentation work, we found that labeling behaviors result in people diverging from group consensus in their segmentation.

2) Across two samples (total N=483), we found that people with a richer active emotion vocabulary also segment emotion events in greater agreement with their cultural ingroup, lending evidence for a supporting role of language in dynamic emotion perception.
