Last month, I shared a bit here about how my 17-year-old son has a passion for video game development and has spent hundreds of hours over the last 9 months creating his first game for release. Well, I want to let you know that Nitro Turtles is now out! It's a party racing game (kind of like Mario Kart) and has 9 courses, a speedrun mode with online leaderboards, and split screen/online multiplayer. My husband and I played all 9 courses against each other last night and IT WAS SO FUN! I'm so proud of him for the accomplishment. He has a really demanding junior year schedule of AP/Dual Credit/Honors classes, has straight As, and somehow managed to develop this all on his own out of pure passion. He started teaching himself programming in 3rd grade and just developed his skills from there. Nitro Turtles in the culmination of all the subsequent years of self-driven learning. I have not heard a good argument for why Melee tournaments shouldn't be played on monitors when it's more convenient. I personally am all for it. With a Wii and the lag reduction code it's totally fine.

People are shady mofo's... Drove 30 mins to buy a N64 game from a dude who listed on FB marketplace.. game looked legit. Get there hands me clearly a bootleg game.. Im annoyed but figure dude could possibly not know. So I explain to him how I can't buy it because its not legit and explain why I know its fake. He apologizes.. im like nah its ok.. these things are all over the place. He then says well I don't want you to have wasted your time.. I have another copy in my house... Goes back inside comes back with a legit copy... Wtf? Yeah.. now im figuring this dude posts legit games tries to sell cheap fakes until called out on it...

So - after playing the game on my twitch channel for two consecutive years, I finally manage to beat Wizpig (myself) at this incredible game that we all worked so hard to produce back in the 90's at Rare Ltd. A lot of late nights, in a hot, sweaty barn during a heatwave. But totally worth it. We were a new team and this was our first N64 project together so exploring it's 'Nintendo Power' was very exciting. It was also a brand new adventure for us all, as it was the first time we had moved on from 2D to 3D (Actual 3D - not pre-rendered) games on this fantastic console, during what can only be described as a golden era in video gaming. So proud to have been a part of it all back then! Diddy was probably my least favourite creation until we were asked to put him into Diddy Kong Racing and replace Timber as the original protagonist. I didn't really want to do it, but when we put the logo on that title page together with the sequence and other characters I'd created, it all fell into place.
