@jbsoutar I agree we've not improved but as a villa fan I'm just so grateful that we have the manager that we do and a capable management team. I have absolute faith that there is a plan and we'll compete as we did last year. I can't see us selling Rogers but I think Ollie could well go.

@lyndwil Only players they've signed for fees: already left on loan, second-choice goalkeeper. The lack of signings proves they need to sell to buy. Rogers leaving would be a disaster, Watkins for £40m+ makes financial sense but leaves a big hole. They're regressing, not improving.

@J_Tanswell I think we will benefit from keeping a core group of players together with little upheaval. A few players will leave but I don't think we need too many players to come in, as last January's window showed.

This window has been slow-going for #AVFC. Anticipated exits have not yet materialised and, in turn, Villa have been stifled in bringing replacements in. Business will pick up over the next few weeks & dominoes will fall, but the uncertainty is not ideal nytimes.com/athletic/65296…

Hey X do your stuff - last night after the Villa game I dropped my Villa scarf . It’s 53 years old and of great sentimental value having followed Villa everywhere. I was parked on the corner of Park road North and sycamore rd just up from the Wisdom Academy School.

@J_Tanswell As a Liverpool fan, I think a draw is a fair result, but what I would take from what he said that I agree with is we shot ourselves in the foot with the goals we conceded, but Villa I’m sure will say the same.

Arne Slot: "If you put all the chances in a row I think it's clear which team should have won this game." Spoiler, Slot thinks Liverpool should have won and that #AVFC leading 2-1 at half time "did not reflect" the game.

@OllieVilla2 I think he's looked confident and composed. The only comment I would make is that there were times against Celtic where he made himself available and wasn't given the ball. If he's playing, the other players have to trust him, especially in tight positions.

Really impressed with Lamara Bogarde in the past few games. Really calm and doesn’t panic like a lot of young players. His versatility is great for the squad also. A good CDM option. Played some really good passes last night #avfc
