A8 - scheduling time weekly for teams to meet and develop, review etc. BIPs I think time for as many members of a team getting to collaborate is so important to the success of the plan and student decreasing inappropriate behaviors. #VCShappykids

A7 - I think this is the hardest part when first developing and then implementing a plan. I like that Ben gives a tight window - I think 10 school days? Maybe 15 to try it out and then revise if the plan is not working. #VCShappykids

@AcademicAnnVCS Our students definitely respond to being heard and giving them undivided attention. :)

A7: By keeping focusing on the child and THEIR needs. Sometimes what they need is love. Sometimes what they need is consistency. Sometimes they just need someone to listen. Also working with a team so you don’t feel like it is all on your shoulders. #VCSHappyKids

@SamanthaSciara1 A6 - I think reminding each other that we are all working on helping this student, because we love the student. I also LOVED that Ben said it is highly effective for the behaviorist to model implementing the plan for the teachers/staff. #VCShappykids

A6 Optimism is the key to success. As I have been told by a certain Kindergarten teacher...it helps if you fart rainbows and sprinkles. #VCSHappyKids

A5- the FBA forces me to pick apart and analyze the student's behavior. This gives me the information I need to begin the process of developing a behavior plan. This whole process is best with as many of the student's stakeholders involved as possible. #VCShappykids

A3 - this makes me think of one specific kindergarten student and trying to figure out the function of her aggressive behavior - definitely want a do over with her. VCS#happykids

A4 definitely the functional behavior assessment form is beneficial to use #VCShappykids

A2 I can only think of supporting teachers as they implement strategies to effectively decrease students' inappropriate behavior...

A8 We don't have a set team to tackle addressing dangerous/disruptive behavior. We get the staff involved together but typically lack having everyone needed. Time is such a valuable resource, it would be great to create a schedule that allows for all team members #VCSHappyKids

A7 Using that day when the student is suspended to "circle the wagons" and have a plan ready is needed. #VCSHappyKids

A6 I also think true relationships are 100% necessary and teaching positive behaviors daily, even at the same times daily, is also necessary. #VCSHappykids

A6 I think a core, like our Fab 5 taught explicitly and incentives given when students display is a great start school wide. #VCSHappyKids

A5 Few and far between on reprimands. If a student hits another student would be a behavior choice to reprimand privately. #VCSHappyKids

A4 Sticking with the written plan for 10 school days. Talking with other teachers/admin about the plan and troubleshooting what could interfere with being consistent, and getting all of the support possible to implement with consistency. #VCSHappyKids

A3 I think teachers (and admin) are trying to build a trusting and positive relationship with their students, and the student who is struggling the most gets inconsistent responses as the adult is navigating his/her reaction. #VCSHappyKids

A2 I think it is a combination of both, but I am not basing that on research. #VCSHappyKids
