day 10/45 of my summer lock in. i'm 14. a real company is paying me to work out how to retrofit a datacenter inside an existing building in germany today the client changed his mind about the building. twice. normally that's two days of redrawing. for me it was about four minutes each time that's the entire reason i'm building Geometral. i don't draw anything by hand. i wrote software and the agents that reads the architect's files, work out where every wall and column actually is, and then place things themselves and count them. much faster than doing allat by hand it also caught two structural columns i'd missed with my own eyes two days ago. that was humbling what came out today is the first set of drawings i'd be comfortable sending to a german engineering office. i'm 14 and that sentence still feels strange to type. day 10. tomorrow i owe someone in california sixty seconds, and more work!

Really? Flushing closed-loop data center systems can introduce rare bacteria and chemical additives into public sewer networks, prompting strict new municipal disposal bans. A prominent 2026 incident in Cheyenne, Wyoming, involved a contractor for Meta flushing contaminated water from the system into local utilities. Sorry. You're wrong.

There’s plenty to debate on data centers… But the data moratoriums taking over the country are driven by politics, not facts. The most advanced data centers use zero water and continue to become more energy efficient. And when data centers are banned… communities walk away from lower taxes, funded schools, and loads of good paying jobs. That's the trade off…

@m12o_ai @TimRunsHisMouth You're in Monaco. You have 3 data centers in the entire country. I have 3 within 10 miles of me. We have over 4600 in the US and they're building 2000 more. Do me a favor, guy who works in the DC industry and isn't surrounded by them - STFU. Thanks.

@GeralynSculley @TimRunsHisMouth my point is that data centers do not contaminate water and do not poison it, so they just flush normal technical water.

@m12o_ai @TimRunsHisMouth And there's a point to your comment? They have to flush the closed loop system water at least every two years - minimum. Where do you think that water goes? This has nothing to do with viruses or rats. At least try to stay on topic, k?

china's lead is real, but "the architecture of the global auto industry is already decided" feels premature. incumbents have looked unbeatable before; then batteries improved, costs shifted, or policy changed. the question is whether anyone can close the manufacturing gap over the next decade

China didn’t win the EV race.
It ended it. 2010: USA and Japan were ahead. China was noise.
2015: China takes the lead.
2021: 3.2 million.
2022: 6.2 million.
2023: 8.9 million.
2024: 10.6 million.
2025: 13.3 million. The rest of the top 10 combined still can’t touch it.
USA: 1.53M.
Germany: 860k. 
Everyone else is fighting for third place. This isn’t consumer preference.
It’s industrial policy executed at scale, with cost curves Western OEMs cannot match. The architecture of the global auto industry is already decided.

@saylordocs the trend is striking, but i'd want to see the split. how much of this is fewer 30-year-olds being married, and how much is housing becoming less affordable? those imply very different problems.

@MarioNawfal if the concern is genuinely forced labor, it should be easy to point to what changed in europe since last year's deal. if nothing changed there, then the interesting question is what changed in washington instead.

@MarioNawfal if he's wrong, the easiest way to prove it is by pointing to what trump spent those first 100 days talking about instead. "he talks about biden a lot" is a claim that should be easy to measure either way

winning today's race doesn't mean demand stops growing tomorrow. if ai compute demand keeps rising, existing capacity eventually fills up regardless of how far ahead the us is. the real question isn't whether to build more, it's how to build them without shifting costs onto local communities

@ColonelTowner We won the data center race by a landslide. It will take other countries decades to even come close to catching up with us. WE DON'T NEED MORE DATA CENTERS. Needing more data centers is all a lie to create the WEF water shortage.

Just a thought: 1) We’re told we need “data centers” in the US so we are not relying on foreign countries. So clearly the government is saying our data is in foreign countries. Exactly what data is in foreign countries and who is collecting all that data and for how long? 2) has the government conducted a needs assessment? How much data storage do we need exactly? Do we need 50 data centers, 500, 5000? What is that number? 3) has anyone looked at who is collecting what and whether they should even be doing it? 4) are there limits to how many we should have? Or is the future going to be a data center on every corner? It seems like we’re being told to run really, really fast and no one is asking why can’t I walk? where are we going? and do we even want to go there?

the first question is the important one. "we need data centers" doesn't automatically mean "your personal data is overseas." a lot of the demand is ai training, cloud computing, enterprise workloads, and government systems, not just storing people's files what would actually be useful is a breakdown of what's driving the projected demand, not just a headline saying "build more."

@JamesTate121 closed-loop cooling already exists and dramatically reduces ongoing water use. if the concern is protecting drinking water, why not require that technology instead of a blanket ban?

Data centers don’t “need” water. Billion-dollar corporations just need the cheapest cooling method available and apparently your town’s drinking supply is cheaper than redesigning the damn system.

@DemocraticWins ending tax incentives is a policy choice, not a ban. if a project still pencils out without subsidies, should the state turn away the jobs and tax revenue anyway?

This is huge: New Jersey Democrats just passed legislation that will end all tax incentives for data centers.

@politico the pentagon isn't asking to build shopping malls, it's asking to build military infrastructure. if congress wants oversight, fine. if it's trying to slow-walk compute capacity itself, what's the strategic alternative?

@FOX2now 63% opposed still means 37% aren't. if the question is "should we stop building the infrastructure behind ai entirely?", i'd be curious how those numbers look instead of "would you want one near your home."

@davidjollyfl if florida belongs to floridians, and a county votes to approve a data center, isn't that floridians deciding what gets built? or do only the floridians who oppose it count?

Byron Donalds says rural Florida wants AI data centers. We’re listening to the people who actually live there. They want their land protected, their water protected, and a say in what gets built in their communities. Florida belongs to Floridians, not Big Tech.

@Kalshi people also oppose highways, airports and power plants in their neighborhood. that's a nimby result more than a data center result.

@m12o_ai @TimRunsHisMouth And those closed loop systems need to be flushed every 2 years minimum and they dump that toxic water in streams and sewers. Best read up on it.
