IMO this is the user's fault. You should not be running commands you don't understand. If you don't know what a flag/command does, you look it up before executing it. I've been programming for 15+ years and I still do this. I learned the hard way myself years ago copying random crap from StackOverflow and I hope the user in this story learns too.

THIS GUY WIPED WEEKS OF WORK BECAUSE CLAUDE TOLD HIM TO RUN ONE WRONG DOCKER COMMAND it was 12:30am, he was on sonnet 4.6 just trying to add a simple "export to epub" button before crashing for the night he's not even a frontend dev. has a decent backend background. he just wanted to finish the feature and go to sleep claude hit some bugs across multiple docker restarts. eventually told him to run "docker compose down -v" he had never used the -v flag before in his life. he ran it anyway because claude told him to ....and EVERYTHING was wiped every docker volume gone in an instant. his entire postgres database. his whole MinIO content store. weeks of work wiped out by a single command then claude came back with the classic apology admitted the -v flag deletes named volumes, not just anonymous ones. admitted it should have only targeted his node_modules volume. asked him if he had any backups he didn't claude code can absolutely run commands that nuke your data. it can recommend them confidently. it will only realize the mistake AFTER the damage is done pro tip: separate your databases into their own containers and take pg_dumps before you let claude near docker ALWAYS backup before any destructive operation vibe coding without git, snapshots, and DB backups is just gambling atp

Nothing with gameplay effect should be locked behind another game (especially one that is behind a paywall and no, eod / unheard doesn’t mean free). They’ve done this with many thing before in the past including guns and the cold weather facemask on an event drop. This stuff should be accessible in the main game

Dovolil jsem si podle mého názoru zcela oprávněně kritizovat práci moderátora veřejnoprávní televize. Pro zaslepené zastánce ČT je to ale něco jako kacířství a asi podle nich zasloužím mediálně upálit. Neodvolám, a trvám na to, že každý občan, tedy i politik, má demokratické právo vyjádřit názor. Třeba právě i na ČT.

In Austin last week I met an organizer from the Chinese Blender conference, which is hosted by the umbrella AI conference "IAICC". A Blender user told them they should separate it from the Blender conference because 'Blender users won't attend if it's related to AI'. He replied: "In China they won't attend if it's not AI". I think about this a lot.

The biggest problem with HDR is the lack of "paper white" level standardization and metadata. SDR is simple: if it looks too bright or too dark, you adjust the display settings. HDR can't do that: the image is pre-formed for your display peak brightness (HGiG), so games need to expose a brightness slider. Instead of forcing games to add a calibration menu, OSes (including consoles) should expose a system-level paper/diffuse white parameter that games can use to do tonemapping, and that users could change on the fly. This information should then be bundled in any captures of this content. Right now in HDR captures, paper & peak brightness info gets lost, meaning there's no way to reproduce the content reliably elsewhere, so when you look at a YouTube HDR video, it might be too dark or bright for you, and you can't do anything about it. After ~10 years of HDR there still seems to be little progress to standardize this (Dolby Vision doesn't fully solve these problems). Microsoft, Sony, Samsung, Nvidia, YouTube etc need to make a strong effort to handle it before this turns into an ever bigger mess.
