Not many people know this. I figured I would share this. Back in February 3rd this year my wife and I went through an adoption disruption. This was devastating in many ways. I’ll be honest, I am still scarred with private adoptions, and how the whole adoption process works. It’s a broken system and with the chance of disruption on average being a quarter happening for families looking to adopt the odds are staggering in perspective. Losing funds is one part of it, but the crippling part of it all is losing hope of having a family of our own. Being parents is something that has been on our hearts for such a long time, and struggling with infertility was and is an ongoing battle. A moment of transparency, with all of this going on my mental health, suffered. It was tough, it has been every day since then. However, there is a positive turn of events. An unsuspecting light that side lined us, floored us, and flipped everything upside down. Approximately 4 months after that disruption, this previous Monday this week on 6/9 my wife and I received a call for a baby that was being placed for adoption. We took a chance reluctantly, traveled to a city near by and met with the family. We stayed the night at the hospital, and after a long day Tuesday at 5:00 we officially adopted a baby boy. This whole process has took us by storm. Things happened so quickly. We now have a son. We now have a family. Thanks for reading.
