Bernando clearly makes himself unnaturaly bigger and has his arm in an unjustifiable position. BUT let’s talk about the sanction. The new law changes talks about if the handball denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick for a non-deliberate handball offence and gives a yellow card. In my opinion, this isn’t a deliberate handball. Bernando’s arms are behind his back but by leaning over to try and block the shot, the ball touches his arm. His arms not being far from his body adds the non deliberate element.

You just know he agreed to go to Lyon on loan bcos Ancelotti promised to put him in the World Cup squad if he deliver there ❤️
