New data from @MBIEgovtnz shows average rents for new private tenancies in New Zealand were down 2.1% in February compared with Feb 2024 - the largest two-year fall in 26 years.
Rents fell 5.4% from two years earlier in the Wellington region.

@MusicalChairs14 Absolute insanity to say that 3.7% is the worst case. Russia was about 10% of global oil production and that caused an inflation spike to 7.3%. This crisis affects 20% of supply and also includes more nat gas and fertilizers.

In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents.
It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years.
There should be no profit in education or healthcare.

Great to see this continuing equalisation of cycling for all in Chch as it becomes a nicer place to bike! Some people interpreting this chart as fewer males cycling - nope, overall numbers cycling in Chch are growing strongly, just faster for women/girls
