But the then Commissioner, Rishikesh Bhaskar Yashod, under pressure from BJP leaders, stayed the court-ordered demolition. When the matter came up in open court, the officer was left completely tongue-tied as the bench delivered a stern lesson in law, constitutional duty, and democracy.
