@MamaWeasleyy Tbh, we still get a lot of things for the kids (too much), but it’s worth it for that magic Christmas morning sparkle in their eyes.

@MamaWeasleyy 💯 we were spending money on silly things and receiving things that we never ended up using. I wasn’t sure if our (read: my) declaration would cause hurt feelings. My husband was the messenger to his family. If there are hurt feelings, I don’t know about them.

@Courtzilla @MamaWeasleyy 💯 a couple of years ago we told my mom and MIL/FIL/BIL/SIL we don’t want to exchange gifts among the adults and we haven’t. I think MIL/FIL/BIL/SIL still exchange amongst themselves but we’re left out of it.

I put affordability front and center every day. Most importantly, I told folks exactly who it was that was ripping them off, and I grounded it locally.  It's the billionaires and big corporations making record-breaking profits while the rest of us struggle.

@MamaWeasleyy Yeah, a little scary, but luckily it was slow in a safe place. I fell with the kids once before (on the first day w the bike), and they were ok then too… so they have a bit of fear inoculation. Little one was telling all his teachers about how “mama broke the bike.” 😂

@MamaWeasleyy Something in the air, for sure. I toppled our cargo bikes (with our kids on) yesterday (we’re all fine— slow mo fall on a sidewalk). I temporarily put the bike out of commission. 😭

Biden's four point victory in the popular vote in 2020 was the sign of a closely divided nation. Trumps' one point victory in 2024 is a clear mandate for Christian nationalism.
