Xabi’s system and style of play gets goals out of all five attacking phase players when well executed. And that’s because they rotate positions constantly and no one stays isolated far from goal for too long. Frimpong and Grimaldo had 53 G/A in 23/24. Wirtz, Hoffmann and Boniface had 84. Schick, Tella and Adli had 43 in bit-part roles. This is how our side was shaping up in my head. It’s up to Xabi to decide what goes on the flanks, be that wingbacks, wingers or both but this is the core starting attack. All three can score and assist at a good-decent rate, but if you wanna talk about what we’ve seen from each at their best, Enzo is the least potent scorer and creator here. Regardless, if any of them leave for any reason, the club has to keep in mind that a goal scorer/creator must be coming in the other way. Players like Barco, Guimaraes, Anderson, Sangare and whoever else you want are meant for the unit of 5 behind them, they belong nowhere near this unit. Key summer ahead.
