Exhilarating Welcome Party ushers in Corps members in Ondo Camp. The 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko were treated to a colourful welcome party on Saturday evening, an event filled with lively music, energetic dance performances, and platoon displays. Speaking at the welcome party, the State Coordinator, Mrs Kuburat Omowumi Bakare who was represented by the Camp Director, Mr Kehinde Lawal, admonished the Corps Members to ensure that they utilize their all-round potentials during the orientation course. He reminded them that, apart from the rigours of lectures during the day, there is also social activity every evening aimed at relaxing and re-jigging corps members for the next day activity. The State Coordinator expressed appreciation to Derok for their sponsorship towards the success of the event, emphasizing that social activities in camp should promote unity and healthy competition without causing harm or discomfort to others. He further encouraged Corps Members to make meaningful use of the service year, describing it as a defining period and urging them to leave a positive and lasting legacy. Also speaking, the Regional Sales Representative of Derok in Ondo State, Mr. Tom Omaleh, urged Corps Members to serve the nation diligently, remain security conscious, and conduct themselves responsibly throughout their service year. The colourful event featured an opening dance by Camp Officials, stage performances, Platoon dance presentations, and traditional displays, with outstanding participants receiving awards and cash prizes. The event concluded on a high note, leaving Corps Members in high spirits and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie as they begin their 3-week Orientation Course.
