“We should stop blaming the refs…” Nobody is asking for handouts from referees. All we want is the chance to compete fairly, win fairly, and lose fairly. It cannot be that textbook calls are consistently getting called incorrectly. It cannot be that the biggest games in Europe are constantly overshadowed by controversy. And it definitely cannot be that there is a pattern of bad decisions year after year that end up being costly. It also says a lot when even people who are not tied to Barça are complaining about these decisions. If UEFA refuses to hold referees accountable, then of course people will keep speaking out. At that point, they become complicit in the incompetence. And this is not just about Barça, it is about every club that has been affected by clear and controversial mistakes.

@NealGardner_ I think Bayern are favored. TBH whoever wins that PSG/Bayern tie wins CL. I don’t see Arsenal beating either. Athletico can barely handle Barca, the refs won’t favor them like that against PSG. Arsenal barely made it this far, somehow undefeated though so who knows

All three other World Cups I’ve been to, the cities would *give you* discounted/free public transit if you were going to a game. This is so embarrassing.
Adam Crafton@AdamCrafton_

Exclusive @TheAthleticFC : Current NJ Transit plans for return train from NY Penn Station to MetLife Stadium during World Cup are for tickets to be priced at over $100. Usual price is $12.90, making it more than a 7-fold increase for World Cup fans. nytimes.com/athletic/71933…

Vini Jr., who is already a yellow card away from missing the first leg of a potential semifinal, pushed Kimmich who was already on the ground. After the play, the referee talked with Vini about the incident.

No shame in that defeat for Madrid, they competed infinitely better than I, and pretty much anyone who’s watched them this season would’ve expected. Another brilliant tie of football, full credit to both sides.

🚨🎙️ Thierry Henry on the foul that led to Arda Güler’s free-kick goal: “That should never be a foul. Decisions like this change games and it’s the kind of call Real Madrid seem to benefit from time and time again. I don’t know how this ends, but one thing’s certain… the referee will be under serious scrutiny after this.”

Fans tailgating outside of The Linc is part of what made the Club World Cup so enjoyable last summer Fans need SOMEWHERE to get together and most of the stadiums are surrounded by parking lots, I have a hard time imagining they’ll be able to stop this from happening in Philly
Polymarket Sports@PolymarketSport

🚨JUST IN: FIFA has banned tailgating before World Cup matches at major U.S. stadiums. Tailgates are normally free to attend.

@RodneyFCB I wasn’t opposed to his signing as a back up as long as the wages were low but 30m for what we are getting should be spent towards a proper 9 and CB and now a FB

I don’t understand how some people are treating Rashford like he is some 18 or 19 yo. All he does is hit knuckleballs, useless sprints and can’t even take his man on. Are we now coming to teach a 28 yo winger how to play football?? This is not how we play in Barcelona.

BREAKING: FIFA announced Tuesday that tailgating will be prohibited at several major U.S. venues during the 2026 World Cup this summer. According to Bleacher Report, fans won’t be allowed to gather for pregame tailgates outside Arrowhead Stadium, Gillette Stadium, and Lincoln Financial Field, among others. At Gilette Stadium specifically — organizers outlined the rule in a match-day checklist for the Boston 2026 World Cup, stating that "traditional 'tailgating' (eating and drinking around parked cars) is not permitted for these events." Instead of tailgating, organizers suggested fans attend activities within the secure areas before and after a match, including a "Stadium Fan Experience" that is exclusive to ticket holders. Organizers also suggested visiting nearby restaurants, bars and shops at Patriot Place.

@Barstool_Sotey @WestPineBills FIFA didn’t make NJ increase public transport prices, raise taxes and ban parking though. Plus the songs are terrible and i like jelly’s music 😅FIFA has been a disaster with tickets, fan zones being removed to paid only and soon you will hear about the fields like the CWC was

🚨🗣️ | Alan Shearer Speaks against the Red Card decision to FC Barcelona: 🎙️“Listen, I’m going to be really honest about this, because that’s what we’re here for. When you look at that decision against FC Barcelona, it’s just not a red card. It isn’t. I don’t care how many times you slow it down or how you try to dress it up, in real time it’s a coming together, nothing more. We’re starting to see too many of these big calls completely change the direction of massive games, and it’s not right. At this level, with everything that’s at stake, you want to see the best players deciding the game, not the referee. That decision has basically killed the contest. You go from what should’ve been a proper, competitive match to one side having to dig in and survive for long periods, and that’s not what anyone tunes in to watch. What frustrates me even more is the inconsistency. We’re told VAR is there to clear up obvious errors, to help referees get the big moments right, but somehow we’re still sat here talking about the same kind of mistakes. That tells you something isn’t working. Either the interpretation is off, or the application of the rules just isn’t good enough. You’ve got to give Barcelona some credit because even after that, they showed fight, discipline, and a bit of pride to stay in the game as long as they did. But let’s be clear, they’ve been on the wrong end of a really poor decision there. In games of this magnitude, you need big performances, not big officiating errors, and for me, that red card has completely overshadowed what should’ve been a top quality football match.”

@VoxProMLS They are increasing taxes in NJ during that period, travel costs for public transports going up as they ban parking at MetLife, forcing fan zones to be paid experiences and the prices for basic tickets are insane Haiti v Scotland $500🙃

@NealGardner_ He needs to stay and Flick needs to get it together. I can’t understand from the outside why he’s isn’t getting minutes. Even the 5-10 he got against Athletico. Feels like the Trincao or Torre signings. How do you expect him to develop if he sits the bench or only plays 10mins
