@otteradrift @uncreativetom Rent is non-discretionary so it’s less likely that property owners will just suck it up like a company making some little luxury.
If it were possible for landlords to suck it up or be made to absorb the cost, the rental market wouldn’t be in the state it’s already in.

My feed is littered with landlords selling up. Meanwhile, the RRA ensures that if a landlord evicts a tenant for the purpose of selling, the property cannot be re-let for at least a year in the event of an unsuccessful sale, lol. Instant supply reduction. It’s so silly.

@macciesshank3AM @uncreativetom I'm a landlord (only 3 properties) and have had a couple of years to consider the bill. Your "problems" are all caused by the pessimistic slant you've given them. You keep saying "will mean higher rent" but it will *always* be the market that eventually sets the level of rent.
