Game 3 (from yesterday): After slowly building up a 7-pt lead, Clarkston scored 8 straight to go up 28-13 midway through the 2nd period, but Midland finished the 1st half on a 13-2 run to pull within 30-26 at halftime. Later, Midland used an 11-0 run to go up 41-38 early in the 4th qtr, their first lead since 7-6 midway through the 1st qtr. They added a 9-pt 4th qtr run to extend the margin to double-digits at 52-42, overall outscoring Clarkston 39-14 from the middle of the 2nd qtr to the middle of the 4th qtr. Midland hit 9-for-9 on FTs in the 4th qtr (& 15-for-17 for the game) to seal a 56-47 win. 6'1" soph Ellee Arnold (pictured, #21) showed her versatility in scoring smoothly whether in the post, off the drive, or with her short jumper; she also hit a 3 and was active on the boards for a 23-&-10 double-double. Soph Ella McLaughlin hit a pair of 3s and 7-for-8 on FTs to add 13 points along with 5 rebounds, while sr Adrian recruit Jensyn Ardouin added 10 points, all during Midland's 39-14 stretch. Soph PG Kaiya Mahabir dished out a game-high 8 assists, while also totaling 8 rebounds and 6 points. Sr Elli Robak (pictured, #3) wears a very appropriate jersey #, only scoring in threes for most of the game with 5 3-pointers, an old-fashioned 3-pt play, and twice cashing in on all 3 FTs after being fouled on shots from behind the arc; she added a fast break layup in the 4th to finish off her game-high 26 points. 5'11" soph Bella Flavin added 9 points and 5 rebounds despite dealing with foul trouble for much of the game. ⭐️Wade’s World Showcase Super 7 ⭐️ Ella McLaughlin 2028 Guard Ella could’ve easily been named the Showcase Outstanding Player 🔥 She dominated every phase of the day from stations to 5-on-5, with her effort, intensity, and ability to score from anywhere on the floor. Even with her sister sidelined by injury, it sometimes felt like both were out there with how active and dominant she was. Very impressed with her growth and improvement! 💪🏀
