Riverhawks fans… we heard you (even if you couldn’t always hear us)! After receiving feedback from fans following the 2025 season, we’ve made a major off-season investment into our beloved ballpark in the river valley. 🔗 riverhawksbaseball.com/news/riverhawk…

Anyone criticizing Poilievre going on Joe Rogan’s podcast has to grapple with the fact that 10x more Canadians watched Rogan this month than watched the CBC

@junonewscom Reporters are trained to be critical and ask critical questions. This is not a negative. They ask politicians/others to justify decisions that affect people. This is more important than ever.

WATCH: Premier Danielle Smith challenges a critical, senior CBC reporter on Alberta's MAID rules. She cites international criticism and cases of vulnerable people, including veterans, being pushed toward MAID.

@junonewscom I'd like to know who the reporter was. This country would benefit if the reporter and her co-workers at CBC would consider MAID.

CBC audience share reportedly sits at 1.7% for CBCNN and 3.6% for CBC TV, which means roughly 98% and 96% of Canadians watch something else. Fair question by Kris Sims: why fund it?
Kris Sims@kris_sims

🚨BREAKING: CBC Audience Share report: CBCNN: 1.7 % CBC TV: 3.6 % MEANING: 🇨🇦 98% & 96% of Canadians ARE CHOOSING TO WATCH SOMETHING ELSE 💰CBC is a huge waste of money ⬇️Nearly nobody is watching it 🚫Journalists should not be paid by the government ❌DEFUND THE CBC!

Give Cherry the Order of Canada, or don't. Who cares really... I asked before what his big accomplishments were. He wasn't successful as a player or coach. So, the Order of Canada for broadcasting? Okay, maybe? Others point to his "support for the troops" - Order of Canada for talking positively about our military and being supportive? Okay, maybe? So, what are his actual accomplishments that you feel make him worthy of the Order? I'm really fine either way, and open for discussion. Convince me.

@JasminLaine_ The opposition (PC or Liberal/whoever) can say or promise most anything to get elected. Asking for specifics makes sense.

JUST NOW: Pierre Poilievre criticizes the media for constantly harping on him for his “plans” Meanwhile, Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for a year and we still don’t know his. Nobody questions his or if it will work or is sustainable. Enough of the two tiered journalism.

We used to know things, Canada, and one of those things we used to know is that for CBC to be our national broadcaster it should represent all Canadians — but we all know it doesn't. And that's now undeniable.

@tsnjamesduthie⁩ oddly putting ⁦@WayneGretzky⁩ through a bizarre struggle session/loyalty test. 99 would have been right to walk out but instead handled the ambush with class. It was supposed to be an appearance about a hockey game but CBC tried to make it political

@echipiuk Yes! Let’s blame Justin for this, too! And the cbc, which is clearly anti-Sweden! For God’s sake, give it a rest.

Canada in a nutshell: lie, cheat, and steal, then gaslight the people telling the truth. And we learned from the best. Those in positions of power and influence, including our Prime Minister and state broadcasters, have helped set the tone for this sad state of affairs. If this is the standard at the top, why would trust exist at the bottom? When leadership abandons principle, it becomes a national embarrassment and the country pays the price. But I suppose we can always rely on dirty tricks with our elbows up, all while pretending to be kind and inclusive. Seems to be the Canadian way, eh?

@kpac_15 This isn't a news summit. Entertainment TV...as others are highlighting for you. Movie producers etc rely on government funding. They need to curry favour with the government. Simple.

@kpac_15 Are you aware this isn't about news media? The summit was about Canadian entertainment media, not news media. I implore you to take 30 seconds to do the most basic research. I'll start you off: cmpa.ca/about

Catherine O'Hara is brilliant in so many shows and movies, but I haven't seen anyone mention her guest spot on Curb Your Enthusiasm yet. She's responsible for one of the very funniest moments in the history of the show.
