Agreed, but for this to happen Malaysia needs to pay competitive salaries.
Even in MNCs most employees lower than VPs are being paid a third of what their SEA counterparts are paid.
What comes first? Higher salaries, or subsidy cuts? One can’t happen without the other.

My unpopular hot take is we need to accept paying higher petrol prices. I'd rather pay more for petrol than have Malaysia's healthcare and education budget for the poor slashed to sustain petrol subsidy. There, I've said it. Do what you will with this information.
