No, you just don’t understand how the industry works when it comes to hardcore PvP shooters. The majority don’t have success till a year or two post launch. It’s one of the most difficult genres to become successful in and a lot of studios don’t have the funding or patience for it but it’s a massive payoff if able to be achieved. High risk, high reward which is fitting and ironic since that’s also how Marathons literal gameplay works lmao Bungie has balls for attempting it but then again they have way more potential for it than anyone else does, they’re a billion dollar company and the only ones to have mastered fps gunplay.

It’s already a great game, just very hardcore PvP and unforgiving which has always been a niche genre. They’re not trying to make another Arc raiders full of casuals, they wouldn’t have made this type of game if they needed massive sales at launch. This is a type of game that usually has rough starts then has its peak later down the road, it’s a type of game you have to invest in long term to be successful. It’s a gamble but has a huge payoff if able to be achieved, that’s obviously what they’re trying to do. For some reason a lot of people think a game has to have massive sales at launch now in order to be successful now when in reality it doesn’t. The majority of games don’t see those type of launch numbers at all, especially live service games, but they still end up successful by peaking later.
