For years I'd tell people @MacroverseHQ was "Netflix for comics" or "HBO for comics." Curated library, premium, subscription. I intentionally made a point we were NOT "YouTube for comics" and would point to Webtoon as to why - you could build a HUGE audience but most people with a huge audience were still not making any money from it. Same as YouTube... right? Yes then, but not now. YouTube figured it out. They figured out how to help creators actually get paid. Now the people who build a big audience on YouTube are rewarded for it as well as, or better than, anywhere else. That's a massive shift and it maps to where the entire future of media is headed. Meanwhile, Netflix and HBO are struggling to pay people what they used to. The traditional premium model is contracting while independent creators on YouTube are making more and more and more. Once I saw it I couldn't unsee it. The real opportunity in digital comics isn't curating a library behind a paywall. It's building tools that empower creators to own their content, own their audience, and build sustainable businesses. I am ecstatic to be building YouTube for comics. It's AWESOME! The creators who thrive here aren't the ones locked into corporate IP gigs. They're the independents, the rebels. They own their work. They've got stories to tell and a NEED to have others read and connect to those stories. I'm one of them. So now - we're blatantly, belligerently celebrating people telling stories that matter to them by building new ways to distribute their work everywhere, get paid instantly, and own their relationship with their fans. Rolling this out right now... Quietly. Like ninjas🥷... If you're paying attention, you'll see why we're so excited. Stay tuned.

Stan Lee's strategy for defeating the Comics Code: 1. Get a letter from the US Dept of Health asking for a drug awareness story 2. The CCA says no 3. Publish without the seal anyway 4. Get positive national press coverage 5. Watch the Code revise its rules within the year Magnificent.
