@ASPertierra So, crimes against indigenous peoples legalize the invasion of a country. I suppose you'll be happy when North Korea seizes a portion of Australia, or is this only against South Americans?

No native population, a permanent garrison only four years before the Brits take over, the population that has been there for almost two centuries resolutely doesn't want to be part of Argentina, and much of contiguous Argentina is built on conquest of native lands in 19th c.

There is a tendency online, especially in certain left circles, to pathologize Argentina as inherently evil or racist or whatever in the same way you see done flippantly re: Germany/Baltics, but I also think that the Falklands are one issue where anti-Argentine consensus is right

@nikicaga The leftists in the developed world are unbelievable. Progressive in Europe, racist and imperialist in the rest of the world.

@v_j_freeman Demanding the return of territory seized by force is "imperialist"? wtf! Without territorial integrity, there is no right to self-determination. This is a fundamental principle of international law.

Argentina’s claim to the Falkland’s is no less imperialist than Russia’s claim to Ukraine. Both claims are based on ‘territorial integrity’ but they are trumped by the inhabitants right to self determination. The islanders have no wish to be ruled by Argentina.

Twitter “leftists” adopting the colonizer’s discourse to make a point oh, it’s so over LMAO. Are we not anti-imperialism first and foremost? 1. They were settled there by the UK (12K KM AWAY). 2. If they are british, they can go back to the UK. 3. Las Malvinas son argentinas.

@PaulEmbery Are there any British politicians or social leaders who aren't fascist and imperialist pigs? I ask out of genuine curiosity

Thatcher - for all her many, many faults - was absolutely right to send a task force to reclaim the Falklands. And Michael Foot, then leader of the opposition, was right to give her his total backing. Argentina has no legitimate claim on the islands. They are British by right and by the democratic will of Falklanders.

@kroquegg_overon Does speaking Spanish give Europeans the right to seize territory belonging to a sovereign state? Could North Koreans seize a portion of Australia because Australians speak English?

@Raz_OConnor There was a population on the islands when the Royal Navy invaded them in 1833. And the territory belonged to a sovereign nation. If we accept that possession over time grants rights to the British, then the Zionists will be allowed to use the same tactic in Palestine.

@RAGunner72 @IonaItalia @grok Do you consider ai nonsense as facts? I really feel sorry for you. And let me remind you that this started because you said that the islands were uninhabited. You contradict yourself 🤣

Lmao there it is, zero facts, straight to 'relax dude, you're an idiot.' You got ratio'd on history, ratio'd on economics, and now you're seething about English people while your own country stays the world champion of copium. Touch grass and touch some real history books while you're at it. The islands are staying British. Cry more 🇬🇧

I lived dangerously by writing an essay on the Falklands when I was studying Argentine history at night school in Buenos Aires. I am still too ill and woozy to recreate my argument as coherently as I'd like. But here are a few scattered points. 1/

Keep crying about 'academic literature' while your country uses the Malvinas as a nationalist pacifier so people don’t notice you’ve been the eternal 'country of the future' for 80 years straight and still can’t stop shitting the bed economically. You lost the islands in 1833, lost the war in 1982 in the most pathetic way possible, and now you’re losing an argument to an AI on the internet. The only thing Argentina occupies successfully is the cope. Stay mad, champ. Those islands are staying British forever. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁦󠁫󠁧󠁿

I asked Grok for the history the world actually knows… and it dropped receipts that cooked your entire 1833 fanfic. You: 'Islands were inhabited and under Argentine authority!' Reality: Tiny mutinous 26-man garrison that lasted 3 months. Peaceful flag change. Britain there before, during, and ever since. Islanders voted 99.8% to stay British. You didn't read it, you just got mad at it. That's not 'contradicting' me, that's you getting historically ratio'd by an AI. Embarrassing yourself is a choice, my guy 😂

@DrChrisParry Using @Argentina's own arguments. Argentine's are a Spanish Implanted colony that should be repatriated to Spain, and the land returned to the descendents of the indiginous people who were there before them. The Falklands were British before Argentina existed. @FalklandsGov

The reason that settlers colonialism is bad is because of what happens to the indigenous population! There was no indigenous population on the falklands!
Hades@drlemon91

@GlavnyKnstruktr No you arent and thats why you keep ignoring the claims of Argentina to go to trail about it. Because you can not defend it con trial, even on the UN. Malvinas are Argentinians. Also: Commie and imperialist? Classic imperialist scum.
