Okay, #genechat - I'm editing a booklet that will go in hospitals nationwide. I went through and changed 'mutation' to 'variant' and ensured it was understandable - thought that was what we were doing now. With the recent conversations here, wondering... should I:

@3rsCardioGC @lizmizerik That was another thought I had but Twitter limit stopped me! Plus, a VUS is more complicated than yes or no and the connotation with mutation might be confusing.

@lizmizerik @maddifugate I like that a variant is a variant. Some cause disease, some don't. But a benign variant should not be called mutation. I just like the consistency with the term variant.
