How does one become an innovator; the renaissance man trapped within refuses to be silenced. So I combined everything - chaos, loss, reinvention; into a true, undeniable body of art. > scholarship to USA for basketball at Top 5 CA High School > Graduated HS at 16yo > Broke my leg (thought I’d never walk again) > Applied to Cambridge, got in, declined the offer > recovered from injury and went to go play pro overseas > 5 offers from D1 colleges, NCAA ruled ineligible due to pro status lol > left sports behind > traded crypto, made a fortune then lost it all > Enrolled in top 10 London university for neuroscience > dropped out after a few months > made another fortune in crypto, lost it again > wrote a book (1 copy exists) > went back to go play pro in Asia > back to Europe, back to university > got my bachelors in 14 months !! (didn’t tell anyone) > made another fortune trading crypto, lost it all > hit the lowest place in my life > fast forward 6 months and I’m a 2x founder > innovating sports tech and AI infra for modern firms Oh yea. I’m only 23. And I’m just getting started.

don't run from foreign emotions. it may sound counterintuitive but they are your greatest ally. last thing you want to do is numb internal conflict because it's uncomfortable. meanwhile discomfort is the foundation of growth. you would be a shell of a man. shooting emotions out of the sky before they can even develop is surefire way to stunt any progress in your life, seeing as we are emotional beings afterall and they predict all that is important: buying behaviour, thoughts/actions, tonality in speech, motivations for goals, etc. logic is great for building bridges and flying airplanes, and that's about it. anyone who has ever produced a great body of work was inherently troubled, deeply. nietzche even wrote "one must have chaos to give birth to a dancing star". self explanatory dont you think. emotions are a force multiplier, in whatever direction you decide to channel it into. a girl left you and broke your heart? great. you have two options: write the greatest epic poetry novel the world has ever seen, workout until zeus trembles at the glance of your physique, pack a small bag and zip across the world to build houses for orphans in samoa, come back and force a $100M business into reality. OR be a loser. medicate your feelings into oblivion. have the same conversation 50x with your friends, ruminating over why she left, and feel sorry for yourself, while she's probably on the back of a vespa in rome with some other guy. this example extrapolates to all sorts of setbacks. money, status, relationships, jobs, injuries. there is a psychological way to deal with everything. most will live in agony when the real battles begins because they convince themself that they they're powerless and have to stay this way: broken, a victim, sad, wallowing in their little problems. taking the easy way out with alcohol or self loathing. cope. just sit with your emotions, do nothing, until the fire burns so bright, and your vision becomes so clear that the only route is to become a psychopathic winner. not for revenge. but for the story to be complete. godspeed.

You already know. The numbers don’t lie. The team isn’t improving. The deal smells off. Your gut said walk. You stayed anyway. That’s not hope. That’s fear. And it costs more than you think.

I think the caution here is that you don’t need credibility to build something. However, you need to understand as a founder that you are the startup not the product. So you have to build in a way that makes people like you and forces people to be interested in the way that you think.

Someone asked if it's a good idea to start a startup when you have nothing notable on your resume. Absolutely. All that matters in a startup is whether users like the product, and users don't care (either way) what's on your resume.

@therickywaters And if you’re not yet confident about your product or selling, it just means that you don’t believe in the product yet or the product isn’t good enough to sell

Closing is not manipulation. If you truly believe your product improves their life, not selling it is the selfish choice. Serve people by asking for the sale.

A massive advantage in life: Being a pleasure to deal with. Kind when others aren’t. Calm when things go sideways. Reliable under pressure. Intelligence alone is overrated. Be someone who lightens the load for folks around them. People value people who make their lives easier.

> you feel stressed? write more > you are afraid of the future? write more > you want to learn for your next exam? write more > you want to be more aware? write more > you can't sleep because your thoughts won't stop? write more > you don't know what you actually want? write more > you feel lost and overwhelmed? write more writing by hand forces your brain to slow down, process, and actually think. start writing.
Brandon Luu, MD@BrandonLuuMD

Students who took notes by hand scored ~28% higher on conceptual questions than laptop note-takers. Writing forces your brain to process and compress ideas instead of copying them.

Twitter is cool. But it’s 100x better when your timeline is full with people who code and build things. I need to connect with more founders and tech people. If you’re into Tech, AI, Startups, Design, web dev, SaaS, or programming, say hi.

@josbjohnson Is it intelligent to only be done with pulling strings once the instrument has been completely and utterly ravaged into oblivion? Or when this soul can no longer translate what is supposed to be music? accelerate the tool into oblivion or let the soul go silent?

honor this one life you were given. a body that heals. a mind that learns. a chest that somehow holds both grief and joy without collapsing under the contradiction. this was placed in your hands. this impossible machinery. play it. pour everything through it. until the fingers ache and the music has emptied out of you and the instrument rests warm in your lap from the sheer fact of having been played by someone who understood what they were holding.
