Good morning all, Ryan uses bluetack daily he rolls it, he spins it, it helps his anxiety, and stops him from picking his nails and skin on his fingers, so way back I ask the social worker if the blu tack can be added as a DRE a disability related expense ( we use a lot) the lady laughed and send theres no way,I go away and do some research, following year I ask again and again they say no, this time I ask for the refusal in writing, lady says term ok fill out this form explaining why this is needed, and I do exactly that, letter comes through the door DRE refused, so I ring up and ask when it went to panel, it didn't, ok I say...you cannot refuse a DRE without it first going to panel, a day of phone calls later, finally they agreed for it to go to panel, and the blu tack was added as a expense, one social worker I spoke to didn't know what a DRE was, another didn't know about the panel, I always ask that a no or a refusal be given in writing, I always do my own research.
