Glasgow is a cracking city, but we’ve lost that sense of pride in too many of our communities. I’m standing here where I used to go to Brownies as a wee girl. It should be a place full of memories… but instead it’s been demolished and left to rot, covered in litter. That’s not good enough. Places like this used to bring people together. Now they’re being neglected, and it sends a message that our communities don’t matter. That’s exactly why I launched my Pride in the Community initiative, working with local schools and young people to rebuild that sense of respect, responsibility and pride in where we live, for future generations.

Sir James Bevan spent 8 years at the Environment Agency and oversaw the decimation not only of the agency but every river in the country. He's recently reappeared again on the boards of Welsh Water and the Canal and Rivers Trust. The man is not fit to handle this week's shopping list never mind run an organisation especially a water company.
Patrick Galbraith@PaddyGalbraith

Is it right that Sir James Bevan is now a trustee of the Canal and Rivers Trust after his inability to tackle England’s sewage pollution crisis while running the Environment Agency? @Feargal_Sharkey thinks not Strip ex-Environment Agency chief of knighthood, say water campaigners telegraph.co.uk/business/2026/…

Scotland FM @JohnSwinney is morally opposed to US & Israel war on Iran, concerned it breaks international law. But is Scotland already complicit? Is a Scottish Gov owned airport being used by US military? Are components for US Tomahawk missiles used on Iran made in Scotland?

This is difficult to watch, it's embarrassing, it's enraging, it's shameful. Emma Reynolds the Secretary of State for the Environment and David Hill the head of water at Defra appeared before MPs on Tuesday where they repeated the same old lie, that water company shareholders invest their money in the companies and we, the bill payers, pay them back over 10, 15, 20, 30 years. Even Ofwat have owned up, that's a lie the £104 billion "private sector investment" is coming directly out of your pockets, your bank account. For God sake just tell the truth. Barry Gardiner, you're a star. 👏👏👏
Barry Gardiner MP@BarryGardiner

Since privatisation water companies have taken more than £85billion in dividend and piled up more than £60billion of debt. Yet all capital and operational costs are covered by bill payers. So why keep a privatised structure for a natural monopoly like water?

The reason why there was an avalanche of criticism on Marco & drama relating to the FA cup exit is simple… Pundits are starting to notice our stature…They judge us to a higher standards. Onwards & upwards. #FFC #FulhamFC

Britain's fragmentation is being led by Zack Polanski, an ex-magician, ex-hypnotist and ex-unqualified, unaccredited mental health counsellor. A sinister oddball with a non-existent political background, he's reinvented himself as a pied piper for the stupid and the marginalised.

The shortest river in the UK is the River Morar, on the west coast of Scotland. It is only about half-a-mile long, but quite large in terms of flow. It drains the UK's deepest, and third biggest loch by volume, Loch Morar. This loch holds a wee bit less water than Loch Lomond.

SCOTLAND: The Big Picture
SCOTLAND: The Big Picture@ScotlandTBP·
Just days from the finish line, Jake’s Watershed Trek took an unexpected turn. For the past two months, Jake Evans has been undertaking an extraordinary challenge – a 1,200km winter traverse of the Scottish Watershed, to raise funds for mental health support and SCOTLAND: The Big Picture. After summiting the final Munro of his route, Ben Klibreck, ferocious winds knocked him to the ground, leaving him with a badly broken ankle and stranded high on the mountain in extreme conditions. What followed was a long, cold wait and an 18-hour rescue – thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Assynt Mountain Rescue, whose ground team and helicopter crew brought Jake safely off the mountain. We want to send Jake our heartfelt thanks and admiration. He showed remarkable resilience and presence of mind to call for help and deploy his emergency shelter while he waited for help. To have faced weeks of snow, wind, isolation and exhaustion – and still reach the summit of his final Munro – is an extraordinary achievement. We’re wishing him a smooth, steady recovery. The mountains may have halted Jake's final miles, but they haven’t halted his purpose. He's still climbing towards his fundraising target, and your support can help lift his spirits as he begins his recovery. 👉 bit.pulse.ly/moqohinlqt #MountainRescue #Resilience
