@JordanUhl I truly wish that having taxpayer funded child care and free healthcare wouldn’t end up like the DMV but the reality is that government funded programs run just as well as any other. Complete fucking garbage.

Last week I randomly got a $9,000 bill for a hospital visit from last year. I called them up and they said my insurance decided not to cover it. Why? Because. .@Aetna can just decide they’re not interested in covering something and then you’re left with an inflated bill to pay out of pocket after the fact. This is in addition to a $2,000 bill that I already paid. They just don’t want to cover it despite me paying a monthly premium. Meanwhile illegals get free healthcare. Honestly fuck you @Aetna. I’m gonna do everything I can to destroy you.

@Mishbia15 @WorldWideWob Last night may have been the worst “nba” game I’ve ever tried to watch. It’s grossly incompetent officiating. This used to be a contact sport, now it’s two hand touch and it’s garbage.

I am 100% behind Devin Booker here. Last night was not a good look for our league. Let me be clear, we didn’t lose because of officiating, but that doesn’t make last night any less important. If the referees are going to demand respect from the players - as they should - then the players should demand respect from the referees. When a referee is missing calls and clearly disrespecting the players, almost mocking them, they must be held accountable. Nobody who loves this game enjoyed watching that last night. They want to see the players compete at the highest level. The league needs be far more aggressive about this kind of thing. All players and all fans deserve it.
CantGuardBook@CGBBURNER

Devin Booker WENT OFF in his postgame interview about the officiating in tonight’s game vs OKC: "It's definitely something that has to be looked into. I heard Caruso tell them to call the tech and he ended up doing it. In my 11 years, I haven't called a ref out by name, but James [Williams] was terrible tonight, through and through. It's bad for the sport, bad for the integrity of the sport. People are going to start viewing this as the WWE if they're not held responsible." "I know I haven't won a championship in this league but I have been in it for 11 years now, so to get to this point to be treated like that, for me to even be saying something out loud... It's bad. "It's my first time in 11 years but it's needed. Whatever, I get fined for it, everybody can pull the clips and see where the frustration comes from."

Dillon Brooks refers to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as “a little frail” while criticizing officials after Game 2: “This is the playoffs, a man's game. I used to watch this back when Michael Jordan was playing…when LeBron was younger, just physical basketball. I don't get why all the dropping, the falling and the flopping and flailing…and all this stuff is allowed when we get to the playoffs.”

Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia— AOC: Wah wah wah. We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no. Republicans have fought for partisan gerrymanders across the United States of America. And these are the rules that they have set. And so if the Republican Party wanted to start this, they did this in North Carolina. They drew out three Democratic members of Congress in North Carolina. They did it in Texas. What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over, doesn’t fight, and takes everything sitting down. And what they’re mad at right now is that we are here in a new day. And we have been asking the Democratic Party to stand up and fight, and now they did—and now the Republican Party doesn’t like the fact that they are fighting against someone who actually will stand up for the American people. So if Republicans decide that they would like to revisit a ban on partisan gerrymandering, I welcome them. We have the bill right here to end this all today. But they don’t want to, because they like pursuing and continuing to enact an unfair electoral landscape. And so we have an obligation to defend ourselves.

FOH with the prospect talk like they didn’t just pay Kyle Tucker $60M a year to be their fifth‑best hitter. The Dodgers are the best team in baseball because their payroll sits in its own tax bracket, miles above almost every other franchise, full stop. They have unlimited financial resources, so they’re not forced for trade prospects as much as other teams. When they do move someone good, it doesn’t matter. They can cover any mistake with another massive, deferred contract without blinking. The only meaningful difference between them and other well‑run teams is the budget. They’re the Rays with a stack of blank checks. They’ve drafted and developed very few true stars in the last decade; they bought the rest. Any conversation that ignores their spending is disingenuous at best. Stop acting like they’re some feel‑good story built on plucky underdogs and homegrown talent.
Nelson Espinal@nelson__espinal

This is why the Dodgers are the best-run franchise in baseball. Andrew Friedman, rather than trading his prospects, keeps them and figures things out later. He kept Dalton Rushing even with Will Smith in the fold, and now Rushing is breaking out.

I love Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge, they are both incredible players and hitters. But they’re nothing like Barry Bonds. Sometimes … they miss. Barry never missed. If you threw him something in the zone, it was gone. That’s the difference between Barry and Shohei/Judge.

With Victor Wembanyama on the floor, the Spurs generate far more layups for their point guard trio — a trio I spent all summer convinced wasn’t an ideal fit. De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper are three downhill guards and none of them is a proven knockdown shooter. On paper the spacing math didn’t work. Mitch Johnson solved it by playing only one or two of them together at once. And Wemby handled the rest. Harper’s at-rim frequency jumps 15.5% with Wemby on the floor. Castle, 14.2%; Fox, 9.7%. More shots at the rim is one piece. More shots going in at a higher rate is the other. Every rotation player sees a jump, not just the guards. Devin Vassell’s true shooting climbs from 55.2% to 60.8%. Harrison Barnes from 58% to 64.7%. Julian Champagnie from 58.4% to 63.3%. Fox is the exception — his true shooting stays the same. Some of this increase is thanks to transition offense off stops. Most of it is Wemby’s gravity in the half-court. Gravity comes in different flavors. The first is simple spacing: his shooting pulls a big out of the paint and the guards drive into an empty lane. The more interesting one is what happens when he rolls. When off-ball defenders decide to stay home on shooters, the big man still needs to prevent a lob to Wemby, which means Fox, Castle and Harper can go one-on-one with a full head of steam and walk into layups. Of the nearly 400 handler/screener duos to log at least 100 pick-and-rolls this season, Fox/Wemby, Castle/Wemby and Harper/Wemby all rank in the 88th percentile or better in scoring efficiency. None of this shows up on his line. Wemby finishes those possessions with zero points and zero assists and jogs back down the floor, and the box score insists nothing happened. Something happened.

My 2026 NBA MVP ballot: 1. Victor Wembanyama 2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 3. Nikola Jokic I spent most of the season assuming I'd vote SGA. Then I looked closer. New column on @YahooSports: sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/th…

This is NOT an MVP debate. The MVP voting is silly and slanted at times. This is just an observation: A center just finished the season as the NBA leader in assists and rebound average (1st time ever) and 7th in scoring. A center did that. A center.

Lululemon, along with other legging brands, have forever chemicals in their clothes. These chemicals don’t just wash out. They don’t break down. And once they’re in your body— they don’t leave. These can be absorbed through the skin, which makes it worse when you learn that these forever chemicals are heavily concentrated in the crotch region of leggings. The most absorbent, sensitive skin on your body. Worn tight. For hours. Sometimes with no barrier. PFAS are linked to: hormone disruption, thyroid issues, live and kidney damage, increased cancer risk, and infertility. I hate it here.
