The heavens declare the glory of God. Psalm 19:3 The stars above and the galaxies are not making sense. They are just pouring out into the sky in a colossal display of fireworks. Alan Watts When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? Psalm 8 🌙✨ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen...

Imagination is the attempt of the person to seduce himself. Desire is seduction of the imagination. Love is infatuation of the imagination.

The man of the 15th century stood erect in front of the desk and read aloud. That was the reason for the large letters characteristic of most gothic books. It was not until later that the tempo of reading accelerated and made smaller type possible and necessary. Jan Tschichold

Alcohol prices are crazy in Sweden. 15€ for a glass of Italian wine. The wine is good though

“As unpleasant as it may be for Trump’s opponents, Iran’s actions since the outbreak of the war have, in hindsight, essentially validated his position. The practice of taking entire nations hostage — attacking neighboring countries under the principle of “whoever is not with us is against us,” threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz to shipping, and now even hinting at cutting undersea communication cables — all of this, along with much else, reveals the true nature of Iran as a terrorist state, one that is internally prepared, if necessary, to hold all of humanity at gunpoint. The idea of such a state — especially one controlled by a group of religious fanatics — possessing nuclear weapons is fundamentally unacceptable. And if all political and economic means of pressure have been exhausted, while only a matter of months remains before the nuclear point of no return (something Iran itself does not deny), then someone was bound to resort to military force. So I will not cast the first stone at Trump for having done so. How exactly he did it is another matter entirely, and one that belongs to a very different discussion. Some may object that Iran is defending itself against aggression that poses an existential threat to it (leaving aside the question of where the line lies between an existential threat to the regime and an existential threat to Iranian civilization itself — and whether the regime may in fact be the greatest civilizational threat to Iran). They may argue that in the face of such aggression, any means of defense are justified. But it is precisely by the way Iran chooses to defend itself that we can reliably judge what would happen if it were to acquire nuclear weapons — and here again, Trump is essentially right. Those who recognize no limits in defense will recognize no limits in offense either. In any case, the events of October 7 — ideologically and financially sponsored from Tehran — prove this point far better than any abstract argument. Iran needed to derail the agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, and it did so in a way that quite literally makes one’s blood run cold. This leads to a simple but deeply unpleasant conclusion for humanists of every persuasion: the war in the Gulf is objectively necessary. It was inevitable, and its continuation is inevitable as well. The only way to prevent it would be to “appease” Iran and persuade it to abandon nuclear weapons voluntarily. Hopefully, Russia and China will have the wisdom to make that happen. If that does not happen, Trump will have to go to war again — and not him alone. And this despite the fact that he clearly has no real desire to fight. He found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time (perhaps, as have all of us), and at this point, if Iran refuses to yield, he will have no choice but to see it through to the end. Whose end it will ultimately be, however, will become clear only afterward — and not immediately even then.”
