Breaking | Statement Issued by the Government Media Office The Israeli occupation committed a full-scale genocide in violation of international law, using food, water, and medicine as weapons of war. It destroyed 90% of the civilian infrastructure and seized more than 80% of the territory of the Gaza Strip through invasion, fire, and forced displacement, crimes that constitute grave violations of international law and crimes against humanity. The occupation dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip and bombed the Al-Mawasi area more than 150 times, despite claiming it was a “safe humanitarian zone.” This proves that targeting civilians was a deliberate policy, not an accident. Over two years, around 77,000 Palestinians were killed or went missing, including more than 67,000 Palestinians reported killed, while around 9,500 remain missing. Among the killed, over 20,000 children and 12,500 women, including 9,000 mothers and more than 22,400 fathers, as well as over 1,000 infants under one year old, and 450 newborns who were born and killed during the genocide by the Israeli occupation army. The occupation also committed horrific massacres against more than 39,000 families, including thousands that were completely exterminated or left with only a single survivor. As a result, more than 55% of the martyrs are children, women, and the elderly. In targeting humanitarian and service personnel, more than 1,670 medical staff, 140 civil defense members, 254 journalists, and over 1,000 civil defense and police officers were killed while performing rescue missions, securing aid, or serving and protecting their communities. Hundreds of municipal workers and humanitarian relief staff were also killed. The number of wounded and injured has reached around 170,000, including thousands who require rehabilitation or treatment abroad, in addition to hundreds who have suffered amputations, paralysis, or loss of sight. More than 6,700 Palestinian detainees remain subjected to severe torture in Israeli prisons, including medical and media personnel. The health sector has completely collapsed following the destruction and shutdown of 38 hospitals, dozens of health centers, and ambulances. Healthcare facilities were targeted more than 788 times. The occupation also destroyed 670 schools and 165 universities and educational institutions, killing 13,500 students, 830 teachers, and 193 academics and scholars, in a deliberate attempt to eradicate Palestinian consciousness. In attacks on houses of worship, the occupation completely destroyed 835 mosques, partially damaged dozens more, attacked three churches, destroyed 40 cemeteries, stole more than 2,450 bodies, and established seven mass graves inside hospitals, acts reflecting the deepest levels of moral and human depravity. In terms of housing, the occupation completely destroyed around 300,000 housing units and severely or partially damaged another 200,000, displacing nearly two million people who were forced to live in worn-out tents unfit for human life, enduring the harshest conditions imaginable.
