@majson Dude! Sorry for not tagging you, Twitter's broken the search by name and I thought you moved to Bluesky or something 😅 Also... the memories! June 2017, almost an eternity ago :) I hope we get a chance to collaborate on something again sometime soon! 🤞

I was desperately looking for @AtomicJarInc (@testcontainers) competitors and pretty open about that fact during the fundraising 😅 My typical response was that we're competing on the categories of testing (dev-first integration vs end-to-end testing), not on the implementation. Basically telling that we're a category defining startup without saying it out loud.

First-time founders, I am on my knees begging. Please do proper competitive analysis. If you tell me your startup is the first of its kind and I can name 5 companies doing the exact same thing, we are starting our conversation on the wrong foot.

Fun fact: even before Testcontainers, there was a project by Red Hat called Arquillian Cube that was very similar to Testcontainers, but initially used the declarative model (via Java annotations) instead of the more programmatic one that Richard North has created with Testcontainers. Since I knew some folks from Arquillian (👋 Bartosz Majsak & @alexsotob), we ended up collaborating and eventually even discussed the idea of merging the projects together. Eventually, Testcontainers' gained significant adoption at Red Hat and they even helped us tremendously by recommending it to their customers. This was a fun story to tell during fundraising, not many startups have such :)

@kbsingh I was wondering the other day if it would make sense to have models tailored for SRE area of expertise too. Codex/Claude, but for day 2.

With the RAM prices being what they are, the dgx spark is starting to look a bit more reasonable.

🚨 So after 21 years of career, it finally happen, I have been let go from my company, in fact the complete marketing team has been let go ... It came really as a complete surprise, I was not expecting that at all since they were super happy with and the significant impact I had. Also the company is doing really well ... But it's life, it's not easy, I'm recovering slowly and I'm already looking for my next adventure. So if you are looking for a experienced IT professional with expertise going from advocacy (community, pre-sales & customers) to Java, with a lot of knowledge and opinions on Platform Engineering/k8s ecosystem and how all of this can be infused with AI, don't hesitate to ping me. Remote EMEA Also don't hesitate to RT this post. Love you all, my network of friends has already been beyond awesome helping when I told them in private last week.

@hubertlepicki Gasket dries out quicker which can lead to leaks. If you keep it in, it's warm so you have higher chances for reproducible shots. The latter only makes sense if you're really into this kind of rabbit hole. All in all if you keep your gear clean that's all that matters.

Devs: automate everything to avoid "work". Also devs: create AI to automate even more Now: "What if #AI takes our jobs?" My dudes, that was the plan. You're just mad it might actually work too well.

JIRA pivot idea: Imagine the UI as a prompt for agents. You fill it in, they take over, working autonomously. I would gladly JIRA all the things all day long.

I have a question for everyone using the long dash (—) in their social media post: what's the keyboard shortcut for that? I'm genuinely curious.

@szymonfiedler Not here (Fedora EN / PL), at least. ALT+0150 or 0151 does not work either. I asked a(i)round.
