Similarly, at one point I was too warm for the sweater but my hands were full. So I left it on untill I could put down my bags. Even though, technically, during that time, the sweater was unnecessary.

For those confused, I'll walk you through it. I put the mask on to take the photo, took it off, left my house and put it back on when I was in a crowded indoor space. It's pretty straightforward.

@Texalism I'm fully vaccinated. As are most people who still mask.

@makermakesblog You mask weirdos are just the newest iteration of antivaxxers, you talk nonstop about covid and wearing a mask but refuse to post anything about getting vaccinated. Then you project at others for "not believing in science" no babe you're the ones saying that vaccines are useless.

What I have learned from this new bit of citation discourse is that gender studies underwater basket weaving programs have more rigorous academic standards than the entirety of STEM.

sorry for harping on this but the problem of “knowing what you want to say but not how to say it” often means you haven’t yet figured out what you want to say. if you turn to an LLM to help organize loose thoughts into prose, you’re outsourcing your cognition to a machine

I made a comic about why you should be masking in 2026 (spoiler: it’s to protect yourself and your community) A thread...

You cannot be creative without creating something. An idea is nothing without execution, and how an idea is executed matters just as much as the idea itself, sometimes more. Having an idea and asking a machine do the majority of the work for you isn't creativity and it isn't art.
Dustin Hollywood@dustinhollywood

Real creativity and art comes from the eye/mind of the creator, not the tool. The ideas matter, not the tools used.

Telling people who oppose AI “have fun getting left behind!” doesn’t really work as a response. They’ve seen where AI is leading people and society and have decided that’s not where they want to go. When a car is speeding towards a cliff, “getting left behind” is just fine.

It is so difficult to be productive when every hour or so I have to tamp down the chilling recurring realization that almost everyone on earth has agreed to pretend a plague magically vanished because one day all the rules arbitrarily lifted & the TV stopped talking about it.

As I've been saying, if you willingly relinquish your mental abilities, you will lose them. The fact that millions of people seem eager to give up their intellects, to be freed from the burden of ever having to think or create, is a nightmare out of our darkest science fictions.

BREAKING: MIT just completed the first brain scan study of ChatGPT users & the results are terrifying. Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt. Here's what 4 months of data revealed: (hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)

If you “make” a movie, a song, an essay, an image using AI you actually didn’t make anything. You are not an artist, you are not creative, and whatever the machine churns out has no value and deserves no attention. Even if every single artist loses their job, you’ll never be one.

We are in a fascist moment, where the humanities are being attacked, because people in power dont want you to have the ability to think for yourself. And every time you use generative AI, you help them achieve that goal. Go to the sources yourself. 5/5

Ideally you would just have AI handle all your intimate relationships, hobbies, learning, personal growth etc. and spend all that extra time watching short form video content.

NEW: The NIH has begun terminating grants about COVID, leaving long COVID funding in limbo, according to an internal document I obtained. “Now that the pandemic is over, the grant funds are no longer necessary,” it says. My latest for @Nature nature.com/articles/d4158…

As Trump pulls out of the Paris Agreement, remember these psychopaths stood behind him all have bunkers. The plan? To rip up rules, regulations - society if need be - so they can amass as much meaningless wealth as possible, right up to the collapse they know for sure is coming.
