TMZ says another email has arrived from the same person claiming to know who is responsible for Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping. They say he now wants $100,000 and is contacting them because he doesn’t trust law enforcement.

You asked. Here’s the list: Police Misconduct Allegations in Karen Read Case Trooper Michael Proctor sent derogatory, sexist text messages about Read to friends, family and colleagues, including calling her a "whackjob," "c***," "nutbag," and commenting "no ass" • Texted his sister that he hoped Read would "kill herself" • Made inappropriate comments about Read's medical condition (inflammatory bowel disease), referring to her "leaky balloon knot" • Joked to colleagues about looking for nude photos on Read's phone, stating "No nudes so far" • Consumed alcohol while on duty and operated his department-issued cruiser afterward • Shared sensitive investigative details with his sister and non-law enforcement personnel during an active homicide investigation • Sent inappropriate text about defense attorney Alan Jackson after the mistrial, • Taillight fragments were recovered over a 3-week period, with evidence logging violations and gaps in chain of custody • Officers collected blood samples in "borrowed plastic cups" at the crime scene • Police failed to search inside Brian Albert's house where the party took place • Canton Police Department failed to preserve video footage, which wasn't disclosed to the defense • Investigators failed to take basic photographs of Read's SUV when first seized, creating ambiguity about taillight damage timeline • Sergeant Yuriy Bukhenik was disciplined for failing to reprimand Proctor for offensive text messages• Failed to separate witnesses before interviewing them • Key law enforcement witnesses were never considered potential suspects or properly investigated • Stored critical evidence at the potentially conflicted Canton Police Department • Senior supervisors made "inexplicably negligent" evidence handling decisions • Michael Proctor was dishonorably discharged from Massachusetts State Police in March 2025 • Found guilty of unsatisfactory performance and consumption of alcohol on duty

@SueNBCBoston The defendant and lawyers CHOOSE jurors. And this case was unprecedented, they had TIME to choose to remove jurors before finality. People that don't understand will choose to complain about anything.

It’s not always true that if both sides are mad at you you’re doing something right…but sometimes it is! Jurors aren’t required to be unbiased. They do need to be impartial, have an open-mind, and be able to recognize their biases and set them aside. Could you serve as a juror?
