The big part of building was tweaking the frontend so it actually felt useful: - Shorter homepage for mobile - Search bar front & centre - Compact review cards w/ tags - Swipeable “Popular / Top Rated / Latest” sections - Bold CTAs + mentor callout RatemyGrad #jobsearch

Building this has been as much about mindset as coding/design. I kept asking myself: 👉 What do students really need when applying for grad roles? 👉 How do we keep reviews honest but safe? 👉 How do we make it simple, not overwhelming? That shaped every decision. #buildinpublic

From there, I started building. First drafts were messy — just forms and placeholder cards. But step by step, it turned into a real platform: ✅ Clean homepage ✅ Search by company, role & tag ✅ Review cards with ratings + tags #buildinpublic #Startups #gradprograms #uni

So I sketched the basics for RateMyGrad: 🔍 Search bar to find companies & roles ⭐ Ratings for culture, pay & learning ✅ “Would you do it again?” toggle 🏷️ Tags like Supportive team, Long hours, mentorship The foundation for honest, anonymous reviews. #project #Grad #uni

I also came across @jedcal project, RateMyDorm, and thought it was genius. A simple, student-first platform for honest dorm reviews. That inspired me to ask: 👉 What if we had the same thing… but for internships & grad jobs in Australia? #buildinpublic #GradPrograms #uni
