@BigBadP @dons_report I agree with you 100%. His decision not to back McInnes was a massive mistake. Any dons fan with half a brain (which wasn’t them all) knew McInnes was the best manager out there for us. Since then it’s been one disaster after another and an absolute fortune spent.

@dons_report Nobody can question his commitment and desire to see Aberdeen be successful. Nobody. But his decisions along the way certainly can be questioned. He needs to employ football people to run the footballing side. That starts with the much needed DoF.

Dave Cormack will become the first Aberdeen chairman in history to relegate us. That’ll be his legacy. Every decision he and the board have made has only eroded this club into a cycle of turmoil. Thanks to them, the love and admiration I once had for my team is totally dead.

The Ryder Cup has a $350m budget. The players (and captains) earn millions in sponsor bonuses for being selected. If they truly cared about the purity of the event they’d do more to keep it from being played on bad golf courses. If they cared about the purity there wouldn’t be captains picks, or speeches by politicians at opening ceremonies, or tents selling $23 beers and $375 golf shirts.

A dumb statement from a smart man. What about the Walker Cup, Curtis Cup, the Amateur Championship, the US Am and the dozens of other national championships? The Ryder Cup wouldn’t crack a top 100 list of purist forms of competition. Half of the players no longer even have to earn their spots!

I’m not buying this line of argument. Johnson knew, as everybody in the Conservative Party knew, that the Brexit referendum was about heading off the (over-stated) electoral threat from UKIP and simultaneously dealing with a fringe group of MPs in the party who were a distraction and wouldn’t shut up. Nobody, Johnson included, thought the country would actually vote for it. There was never going to be a White Paper because nobody sensible could think of anything to put in it. The expectation was that the electorate would sort the Conservative Party’s internal squabbles out for them by decisively rejecting it and all would be well. As an aside, we have the choice of continuing with this failed non-policy or not, and the current government have chosen to continue with it. I would love to see a White Paper laying out the case for staying out of the single market and customs union.
