REAL TALK FAM. As a Persian Gulf Naval Combat veteran who has survived the following: 1) An Antiship missile duel (we sank the Iranian Navy missile boat but it missed us by 150ft) 2) Sailing into a minefield to help save a Frigate that was sinking 3) Chased high speed IRGC boats 4) Attacked by Iranian F-4 fighter jet (we shot it down) It was … 5) Hitting the WW2 style moored SEA MINE planted in secret that sucked the most & did the most damage. Our helicopter carrier was put out of commission. I can say 100% confidence that if Iran has gone back to 1985-1988 tactics the PG will be very hot very fast. The SOH won’t reopen anytime soon if that’s what what.

the first three questions Hegseth takes at this morning's press conference are from OAN, Real America's Voice, and the Daily Wire -- all right-wing propaganda outlets

🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. isn't escorting every ship through the Strait. It's building a defensive umbrella over the whole thing. - CENTCOM chief Adm. Bradley Cooper says a mix of ships, planes, helicopters and drones is creating a zone of protection over the Strait - 2 U.S.-flagged merchant ships passed through safely as U.S. forces neutralized Iranian threats. More are waiting - Analysts question whether the U.S. has enough assets to get back to pre-war levels of 120 ships crossing daily - Retired Navy Capt. Carl Schuster says zone defense means Iran can't overwhelm it by adding more threats inside the Strait - Schuster's warning: Iran will likely shift its strategy toward attacking loading terminals and oil facilities instead Source: CNN

🇮🇷 The world's most important waterway has been closed for 66 days. Here's what that actually means. - The Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed by Iran following U.S. and Israeli strikes on February 28 - Before the war, roughly 20 million barrels of oil passed through it daily, about 20% of global production - 10-12 million barrels of crude remain choked off from global markets despite some producers finding alternative routes - The strait also handles around 20% of global LNG trade, largely from Qatar - Iran controls the northern side. There is no comparable alternative route Every negotiation, every military move in this conflict runs through a waterway 33km wide at its narrowest point. Source: CNN

1/ The world is very rapidly running out of refined fuel due to the Strait of Hormuz blockade, according to a new Goldman Sachs report, with only 45 days' worth of stockpiles of jet fuel, naphtha, and LPG remaining. Rationing, surcharges, and mass cancellations are forecast. ⬇️

And yes, the "US Navy route" appears deep enough to accomodate the largest oil supertankers, but it's very narrow, with several obstacles both north and south the route (including shallow reefs).

Ukraine intercepted 94.6% of nearly 1,000 russian drones in one night in March 2026. Increasingly, interceptors cost $1,000–$5,000. Dr Molloy's article, "Drone-on-Drone War" is a comprehensive open-source account of how this capability was built & where it's going. (Pic: @BackAndAlive) 🇺🇦mickryan.substack.com/p/drone-on-dro…

Great article on the U.S. Army’s efforts to test soldiers from warmer climates in the arctic cold. It’s a very demanding speciality. One our NATO allies excel in. The Canadian troops, for example, had a clear advantage in this exercise. Stay in NATO. nytimes.com/2026/05/04/us/…

🇮🇱🇺🇸 One wrong move in the next 2 days rewrites the entire equation. Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar breaks down how Iran is planning its strikes, and what a U.S. response costs. "If [it's] nothing, that is going to add to how Iran is preparing for a longer war." @AnthonyAgu88102
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇺🇸 There are 3 paths. None of them clean. Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar says the U.S. can escalate, blockade and wait, or walk away and leave Europe and the Gulf to clean up the mess. "When you walk away from one part of this, you're walking away from a lot." @AnthonyAgu88102

Following reports that two U.S. soldiers went missing while participating in exercise African Lion 2026 in Morocco, CBS has received additional information on the matter. Per the report, citing defense officials, the two soldiers went for a hike to watch the sunset when one fell into the water and the second jumped in to save them near the Cap Draa Training Area. Before the second soldier jumped in, soldiers attempted to form a human chain which was unsuccessful, prompting the second to leap to the first’s aid. As both began to struggle against the waves, a third soldier jumped in and was unable to save them, and was forced to return to land. The search for the missing two soldiers continued today, per the report, utilizing drones, vessels, divers and aircraft.
