New Study in JAMA Psychiatry. We know Dementia develops in individuals with Schizophrenia 4- to 20-fold more frequently than in the general population, but its etiology remains unexplained. This study finds that among individuals with severe, treatment-resistant Schizophrenia, Dementia was common and showed a distinct clinical and genetic profile not explained by Alzheimer disease, cardiovascular risk, or medication effects. jamanetwork.com/journals/jamap…
