In honor of #ArboretumGame's 10th anniversary, I will be hosting an AMA on r/boardgames tomorrow, June 3rd at 1pm... stop by and say hi! I'd love to talk about the upcoming World Championship Tournament, my new game, Mischief, coming to Kickstarter, or anything else!

@DiceAndNames I completely agree with your sentiment here but I imagine that reviewers might be trying to do those designers/publishers a favor by not giving the game bad press. But I think negative reviews are very important.

I don't understand reviewers playing games and not posting a review because "it wasn't for me". You've put in the time, I want to hear why it wasn't for you. If I put in the time, I'm talking about it regardless of how i feel about it.

Saw this poll on YouTube just now... do you think any of these games deserve to be named "most influential game of all time?" 🤨

@JoJoFromJerz Not to mention the fact that the gift was explicitly to the *people* of the US, not the president (who merely accepted on their behalf), and for $50 I can walk around the statue of liberty. Hey, can I get a ride?

I can’t wait for Ann to find out about the fact that Grover Cleveland didn’t take the Statue of Liberty with him when he left office.

The government is not a business. Why do people want to run it like one? I'm all for efficiency, but a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" has very different goals than an entity whose purpose is "returning shareholder value"

A government job (for many) is a good place to hide and not rock the boat. No implying that this was the case for the Librarian of Congress, but after all is said and done, the president has hiring and firing authority just like any other chief executive. Earning just under $200K per year, she will retire with benefits that most people would die for and they will go on forever.

President Trump has fired the Librarian of Congress, Dr. Carla Hayden. The position of Librarian of Congress is so apolitical that only 14 people have held the role since 1802. Hayden, who was the first woman and Black American to serve as Librarian of Congress, has held the position since 2016. Her predecessor served in the role for 28 years before retiring.
