This structured, explicit and effective program represents an immense amount of R & D by the DSF Literacy Team. It is an exceptional program with the potential to deliver exceptional results. The bonus is that both students and teachers have a great deal of fun along the way!

Last week, the Education Policy Institute published a report finding no "discernible positive impact" of England's phonics screen on children's reading. My thoughts on this report are available on the blog: rastlelab.com/post/has-the-p…

The capacity to read accurately + fluently is fundamental to so much of what we do. For a student, not being able to read is akin to crashing into a brick wall every day, in every class. These changes will make a difference @BenCarrollMP @BridieSmith @PamelaSnow2 @annecastles
Ben Carroll@BenCarrollMP

Getting the teaching of reading right matters, it’s the foundation of a child’s education. As outlined by @BridieSmith and @SPELDVic, the introduction of systematic synthetic phonics with a minimum of 25 minutes daily explicit teaching is a “game changer”. #EducationState

Huge accolades to two of the most amazing women I know - and have the good fortune to work with - Gemma Boyle, DSF’s Director of Professional Learning + Genevieve McArthur, DSF’s Director of Research Translation. It was their planning that got us there! ⁦⁦@DyslexiaSPELD
