Police Protection For Temple Darshan! In Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, Patikonda, dalits from Juturi village were not allowed to enter the newly built Anjaneya Swami Devasthanam temple. After the incident was reported to the police, the temple authorities allowed them to enter the temple..!!! The police escorted the villagers to ensure the doors opened for them. So called Intelligent people casually utter statements like - “Caste is a western construct”, but the ground reality is this. We, as a society still thrive on discrimination. States like Andhra Pradesh are infested by this mentality and unfortunately it is only growing in the current political scenario. 💯 Agree. I am a probashi bangali, and no men or women of my generation grew up learning Tagore or Sarat Chandra. I took an interest in Tagore in my 40s and was overwhelmed with the richness and how ahead of his times he was. The bengali household is so different. Men and Women equally debate on politics and other subjects together. In other communities, men and women separate out and women discuss cooking, fashion and homely issues. Disgusting.
