@shinetoeternity @BurgerLesbian SMTIV duology also has it to where you don’t game over when the MC dies, and in strange journey redux it’s a toggle, it’s just weirdly inconsistent

@BurgerLesbian It's an SMT holdover most likely (3 building off of Nocturne which made sense in that game as your party members were demons bound by contracts which would obvs be void if demi-fiend died), but doubly weird as P1 and P2 never had this and you could carry on battles if the MC died

automatically losing in persona when the protagonist dies is so dogshit, the final boss just hit me with fear and then did the move that insta kills you if you have a status affect in one turn when i was like 2 turns away from winning
