@glyptodropem @cqcqcqdx The store I worked in (1978-80) was wall to wall packs of resistors, diodes & every other nerdy component you can think of. I hated stock taking week as I had to count every single one of them & write the number in a massive stack of fan fold paper called "The Price Deck"

@mantonl @cqcqcqdx Right before they went under here in the U.S. they were staffed by pimply faced teens that KNEW NOTHING about electronics, and the stores were busy selling cell phones and video games. Gone were the drawers of parts & components and project boxes to build what you dreamed up.

@geocon1713 For diesel our local garage has pushed it up to £1.90 a litre, (although they went to £1.71 on the first day, just profiteering) Julie managed to fill our volvo at sainsbury for £1.59 a litre for diesel a couple of days ago.

@JordanEVGuy Wow will set the standard of whats been fitted & the minimum spec. New builds near me have a couple of low wattage panels thrown up, no bird protection, no MCS cert, rubbish inverter, all to tick a box. I'm all for this but lets have it done properly & with decent kit & paperwork
