M23 rebels and the Rwandan army carried out killings, rapes and abductions during a month-long occupation of Uvira in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in late 2025 and early 2026, Human Rights Watch said in a report on Thursday. reuters.com/world/africa/r…

The world has failed Congo 🙏🏿

Since the openly hostile positions attributed to @KenRoth toward Rwanda, nothing is truly surprising anymore, and everything that follows should be read with extreme caution. @hrw no longer limits itself to establishing facts, but tends to construct a narrative. Its persistent focus on Rwanda no longer appears to be standard investigative work, but rather a systematic interpretative framing of facts. In this context, the organization relies on political intermediaries or opposition figures whose negative and biased testimonies are reportedly taken up without the necessary methodological safeguards, thus fueling content that is misleading and damaging to Rwanda’s image. What should fall under independent documentation thus appears to be part of a broader dynamic of political narration presented under the guise of human rights advocacy. The issue is not Rwanda itself, but rather the credibility of an organization which, in the eyes of observers, tends to replace balanced and rigorous analysis with a predetermined interpretative framework. As a result, its authority is weakened: by systematically favoring a single reading, @hrw risks being seen not only as an organization documenting violations, but also as an actor contributing to shaping their interpretation. Credit to Hon. Christine Mukabunani @cmukabunani for demonstrating that Rwanda’s leadership is neither intimidated nor corrupt, and remains firm, consistent, and accountable in the face of external pressure.
