@maradydd @Cryptomytinkle Hi, there are no specific guidelines for the DCL, but other empirical data is used. You can contact me via mail, probably this is beyond the scope of a X-Post.

@maradydd @Cryptomytinkle I'm sorry to hear that. But there are good options for treating such diseases, both inflammatory and oncological. There are good guidelines. And even a colostomy, is usually only temporary. I work as a surgeon myself: close your eyes, and get through it. It will work!

@Cryptomytinkle Thanks. Unfortunately the available solutions are apparently "have half my colon resected and probably have to live with a colostomy bag" and "deal with it" and I'm not ready for a colostomy bag yet, so I've been learning how to deal with it.

Happy Independence Day to my American friends and family. The statement "a republic -- if you can keep it" is now more relevant than ever.

@mroe1492 you'd need a JSON that isn't underspecified first (example: if an object literal contains the same key twice, which one counts?)

@maradydd A provably correct JSON parser would be an obvious thing to try

Zoomed in to langsec workshop this year. Dan Wallach, keynote speaker from DARPA, points out that upward of 80% of CVEs are rooted in parsers, one way or another.

Oh, and he checked. It didn't hallucinate any CVEs.

Oh wow. Wallach asked Gemini's "deep research" feature to find all the CVEs for popular JSON parsers and categorize them, and it took it half an hour. That's eons for an LLM. I guess this says something about how many JSON parsers there are, and how many bugs they have.

@maradydd @thejonmccoy 1. Ask a lalamo to solve XYZ problem 2. XYZ problem requires some language recognition problem (2*. A problem that people usually get wrong from the langsec perspective.) 3. The solution it spits out embeds a bad solution and we're all none the wiser

@SealOfTheEnd @maradydd @dakami was he a type 1 diabetic? I don't know him personally, but T1D can be very mentally taxing. a life-long regimen of self-monitoring and by-the-hour precise drug administration to survive. wife sees many patients who just "check out", knowing it might be fatal

I've let my parents and @sergeybratus know that I won't be coming home for my birthday or langsec workshop. They took it well, and agree with my reasoning. It is super weird to feel uncomfortable with the idea of crossing the border into my own country.
