Update: I have now confirmed this myself through a Pakistani source familiar with mediation efforts.
My source said there are multiple versions of the document, and that the details are still being worked out on which variant will be acceptable to both US and Iran.

The US and Iran are reportedly close to a framework agreement to end the war, according to Axios and Reuters. This would be an initial one-page document likely to be followed by another formal, solidified agreement. The main thing is just getting a list of demands down on paper.

@DrNeilStone I don’t agree. Once oil starts flowing again Iran has lost leverage and will never be able to get it back. Trump for his part can return to his max demands

According to @BarakRavid the U.S. and Iran are at the closest point to an agreement since the war began. The framework includes: • The U.S. and Iranian naval blockade will be gradually lifted during the detailed negotiation period. • The United States will commit, in the memorandum of understanding, to gradually lift sanctions and release tens of billions of dollars from frozen assets. • Negotiations are still underway on the duration of the uranium enrichment freeze. Three sources said the freeze would last at least 12 years, and one source estimated the final outcome would be 15 years. In addition, the U.S. wants to include in the agreement a clause stating that any Iranian violation regarding uranium enrichment will extend the freeze period. • Two sources claimed that Iran would agree to transfer the highly enriched uranium it possesses out of the country. • The United States expects to receive Iran’s response within 48 hours regarding several key points in the draft framework agreement.

Gotta give it to Trump how he is risk managing the SOH situation right now. I just wonder if Iran is so dumb or simply so weak to fall for this? Once they let shipping continue Trump will simply return to max demands and they will never be able to regain the leverage. Whatever

Please explain to me like I’m 5 or a golden retriever why stopping the humanitarian effort to get ships out but keep the blockade going is what Iran wants and we happily agree to?
