@criticalurban No one’s saying that…obv 🙄
What people do say is encourage the most efficient, healthy and resilient means of transport for short journeys.
And guess what ? This frees up space for those that do need to drive !
Try thinking out of your carbrained box !
English

The fallacy here is the attempt to equate the utility of bicycles to the cars. Americans drive 10 billion miles a day. All of a sudden, if we had to depend on bicycles, the country would shut down as if we were back in the COVID epidemic. There's no comparison.
Transportation Alternatives@TransAlt
This Citi Bike station is used an average of 524 times per day. Alternatively, this space could be used to park just three cars.

@met24met @HigginsKieron @ScottishLabour No movement has been restricted …in fact it’s being improved.
English

@HigginsKieron @ScottishLabour 15minute cities/laughingly called 'liveable neighbourhoods by council. Every exit/entrance to city centre now being reduced. Restricted movement by stealth glasgow.gov.uk/liveableneighb…
English

A Glasgow congestion charge would be unfair for people in North Lanarkshire and bad for the economy.
@ScottishLabour will block it.
English

@JonathonHawkes Wrong. Labour can only be described as centre right…with a penchant for supporting genocidal regimes ….
English

@CllrTKerr Is this a parody account !!? 🤣🤣🤣
A party full of ex Tories threatening to challenge the ‘political establishment ’….🤣🤣
Don’t trip up on your way out Thomas 🤡
English

@AnasSarwar I’ll put this on the same pile as labour saving Grangemouth 🙄
English

@Alison_S_Taylor @thomas_bhoy @DaibhidhP65 @snp Respectfully, why is a technical issue with a ferry the fault of the snp ?
Perhaps take up the issue appropriately and not make ridiculous comments ….
English

Beautiful if you can get there @SNP on a ferry ⛴️

Away from The Masters, I asked Glasgow Life and Glasgow City Council for a response to this story about volunteers trying to restore Linn Park.
Glasgow Life: "Linn Park Golf Course and clubhouse has not been operational since the start of the pandemic and we have no plans to reopen the facility."
Glasgow City Council: "Officers continue to explore the options around the use of the former course, however, there are no imminent plans to undertake any redevelopment."
Great stuff. In the meantime, here are some more cycle lanes that next-to-nobody's using.

"When you come back, it’s like going home. It’s much more to us than just a bit of grass." ❤️⛳️ I spoke to a group of golfers who are trying to restore a much-loved public golf course in Glasgow - more than SIX YEARS after it closed. Please give it a read and a share. It's a great thing these guys are doing. #PublicGolfCounts bunkered.co.uk/golf-news/golf…
English

@MMcEwanGolf Abuse ?!?!
You are a sensitive soul.
I’m really not expecting an answer ….🙄
English

@marc80008 Try again, this time without being abusive, and you might get an answer 😘
English

@MMcEwanGolf Thank you ….i note you haven’t responded to the substantive point 🤣
English

@MMcEwanGolf Oh I think it’s a perfect way to highlight your lack of awareness !
You too ….
English

@marc80008 I mean, it's possible to disagree better, Marc. Regardless, have a lovely day. 👍🏼
English

@iamtomnash lol….the decline of the US in real time …as China emerge as the winners ….
English

@Rombodog @MhairiHunter Wrong, it will have a continuous cycle track.
That will separate cyclists from traffic
The road is perfectly wide enough.
If a driver is unable to cope, they should hand in their licence.
English

@marc80008 @MhairiHunter Nope, it will have partial cycle lanes and narrowed road lanes, with HGV's and buses blind to dangerous antics of cyclists.
English

@Rombodog @MhairiHunter No, Byres Road will have fully protected cycle lane ….keeping cyclists safe.
Only a dangerous driver puts folk in danger and they shouldn’t be on the road.
English

@MhairiHunter Here's a fact. You're going to kill someone on Byres Road. Buses and delivery lorries have idiots weaving between traffic because you're trying to narrow the road for pedestrians and cyclists. Some of these idiots have their kids in trailers who'll end up under a bus, you moron!
English

@will4kilpatrick I suggest you get out and about and look at how many folk use the Cyclelane’s, including disabled folk, rather than make an utter prat of yourself 🤡
Pathetic ….
English

Active travel cycle lanes in Glasgow are being used almost exclusively by delivery drivers in electric bikes. This is putting pedestrians at risk. It's just created a new problem.
Fix the potholes instead 🛣️
Anas Sarwar@AnasSarwar
Stop wasting money and fix the potholes. Surely that’s a popular opinion?
English

@ScottishLabour Pathetic …regressive, ill thought out policy raiding active travel budget.
If this is the best they can come up …they deserve to be wiped out electorally !
English

@celebhibby @zubirahmed @ScottishLabour Err, how do you cross the road ?!?
Drivers should be looking out, quite simple.
English
@zubirahmed @ScottishLabour Maybe people shouldn’t walk on the road then, thats just dangerous neither wonder they are getting these injuries while folk are driving.
English

SNP Potholes are now not only breaking cars they're also causing twisted ankles, breaking bones and leading to A/E visits. @ScottishLabour will fix the mess 👇
