@bealolufc @MikeBalo86 Spending that money was always a gamble in terms of tournament success. Hopefully you enjoyed the experience of being at a world cup, the atmosphere and celebrating the beautiful game with people from around the globe.

The fact Thomas Tuchel will be able to leave this World Cup with the 2nd best result in our history is an absolute travesty. I can’t believe we’re not in the final. I will never ever ever forgive him for the Argentina game.

@marcmaths @educationgovuk Oh I always have a nice day particularly when keyboard warriors tuck their tails between their legs and backpedal Maybe trying to appear to be clever on SoMe wasn’t the look you thought it would be particularly if you have such an important role

To mark two years in the role, Education Secretary @bridgetphillipson sat down with Mr P to discuss the progress this government has made. Check out the full video on YouTube soon.

@DrGrumpy @educationgovuk Emoji shows tongue in cheek, it's your self imposed name. No need to have a go at people you don't know on the internet. I hope you have a nice day.

@dylanwiliam @teacherhead Wouldn't the proportion and complexity of material retained and time taken to teach mastery be related? The more you can retain the quicker you'll achieve mastery.

@marcmaths @teacherhead Bloom built on Carroll’s idea that aptitude be regarded not as the proportion and complexity of taught material retained but rather the amount of time taken to reach mastery. Give all students the same time to learn something and you’ll get a normal distribution of achievement.

@marcmaths @educationgovuk That answer is as much use as a chocolate teaspoon! Although it’s probably insightful for a Liebour supporter

@teacherhead Thanks Tom, but really what Paul and I did in 1998 was really not much more than a set of footnotes to Benjamin Bloom's observation 30 years earlier that a normal distribution of achievement is a sign of educational failure...

@wolvesfancast We need money to buy good championship level players rather than trying to hold on to champions league level players.

João Gomes being allowed to leave on a permanent deal, doesn't sit right, nevermind to Villa. If the club is so adamant we're going up, no excuses, a loan option with a high transfer fee is the move here. Your thoughts on João Gomes to Aston Villa? #wwfc

@ShakinthatChalk But surely they have no knowledge. And need carefully designed clear explicit instruction until they get the knowledge.

And lots more besides. Humans have an innate ability to problem solve, strategise, make connections and meaning. This was developed over thousands of years and began way back in our evolution. Learning to read, write and work with number is already within us at birth.

If you’re an England fan born in 2000, you have no idea how good you have it. You turned 18 in 2018, and your entire adult life has just been watching England deep in tournaments. World Cup semis, Euros finals, quarter-finals... you missed decades of pure heartbreak

@cierzo1 @ShakinthatChalk It is not claimed that these ideas are new or innovative. They were codified from watching good teachers so those not as good at particular things could have some ideas on how to get better.

@cierzo1 @ShakinthatChalk You said "most good teachers". So, there are good teachers that don't do that and also not good teachers who don't. This is for them and for those training them. There are so many labels because they were published in the same book.

Warm strict has to be the most creepy phrase in education. A blatant attempt to soften the no excuses ideology. Just call it firm but compassionate, which any old salt in teaching just sees as, teaching.

@cierzo1 @ShakinthatChalk That's exactly right. I guess the difference is that I don't see anything wrong with that. It's an American term and it has gained some traction over here. The idea is more important than the term. And as you say it has always been a good idea.

Raul Jimenez's World Cup exploits show just how good a player Wolves are getting in the Championship (but we knew that anyway!) - time now to build the right squad around him. Comment: #wwfc expressandstar.com/sport/football…

@ARichards1877 @LiamKeen_Star Trippier and Raul are surely enough leadership for us not to be 'desperate'. And 8 more players? Who's the only 3 you're happy with?
