@TravisNei @BestMovieMom I was, however since I was working on another film (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) I joined the Tintin´s team towards the finish line. Some people were working on this film for more than 4 years. A lot of brute force and talent. Definitely no AI involved😅

It’s insane that we still haven’t had a sequel to this masterpiece. What is Peter Jackson doing? He should let someone else direct it if he doesn’t want to do it anymore.

@TravisNei @BestMovieMom I can attest that this was the result of months of hard work and countless hours of overtime from one of the most talented teams of artists I’ve ever worked with. I was one of the animators on this sequence (from 1:14 to 1:29). Yes, it does look like magic. I miss the old times

@BestMovieMom It looks very AI doesn’t it? People think I am bonkers when I tell them I believe film studios have had the technology of AI since 2009 and it is only now we the general public have become aware of the technology

@ahsujo On this specific sequence I belive it was mostly hand keyframed but yes most of the show had motion capture in it.

@marcusalqueres That's awesome - loved that movie! Does transition between mocap and manual animation at points? I seem to remember mocap being used in the BTS clips, so curious how that works (that scene looks amazing btw!)

Still proud to have been a small part of this sequence, I have animated a good 20 seconds of it if I remember correctly.

@Timmy_22222001 Thanks! But of course this is a love craft from hundreds of super talented artists who worked for years to make this happen. The segment I animated starts at the 2:00 mark and goes on for another 6 seconds past the end of this clip.

@marcusalqueres Not often get a chance to thank the people that make one of my favorite films and yet, here we are! Cannot toss enough cheers towards wonderful people like you who put such heart and dedication to these animated features. Do you recall which of the 20 seconds you were part of?

@RBCFilmTheatre Don't remember but maybe around 2-3 weeks? I was lucky to have joined the production close to the finish line, so scenes had to be approved faster. But I know people who worked on this sequence for months on different versions of it.

@marcusalqueres Just curious, how long did it take you to animate those 20 seconds. And one of our all-time favourite sequences in any film btw so thank you!

@morganloomis_ It made me realize how modern VFX artists are spolied with all these tools, realtime renders, free software, etc. Now you can do pretty much anything you want, easily. Even the hardest task can't be compared to the easiest back then.
